Nobody got snubbed. 68 teams made the tournament. Does the 69th ranked team REALLY think they had a shot to win the whole thing?

That is assuming that the 69th ranked team is not in ahead of the 68th ranked team, which is the whole point of saying someone got snubbed. For instance, I rank Syracuse and Okla behind OK St and ND. So Syracuse would be my 70th ranked team and Okla 69th. So to answer your question, yes, the 69th (and 70th) ranked team has a shot to win the whole thing since they made it in over the 67th and 68th ranked teams.

From what I saw on the selection show, I thought Baylor was "that" team that Davidson...or Rhode Island...kept out. But, I'm old and could be wrong.
On the TBS selection show, one of the committee guys said that Davidson winning the A10 title knocked Notre Dame out. Notre dame fans will now forever be haters of Davidson haha

... or Rhode Island.

Well, I think Rhode Island is less butthurt over it because they at least got in ya know? I don' t think Rhode Island would've been any higher than a 6 seed even if they won the A10 title.

I meant ND is upset at RI for not beating Davidson.

Louisville should have rejected the NIT as a big fuck you to the NCAA for not only stripping the Cardinals of the 2013 NCAA title but not giving them a chance to reclaim one this year.

I disagree. Not a good reason to deprive the current team of playing in the post season.

I still say that Oklahoma is the worst selection this year. 2-9 on the road. #49 RPI. 18-13 overall record. Lost 8 of their last 10. Lost in the first round of the Big 12 tourney.

Shame on the NCAA for putting an undeserving team in only because they have a popular player.

I think more power programs should adopt policies of accepting only NCAA bids. I was not pleased with Ohio State winning the NIT a year after losing the NCAA title game 10 years ago. I'm surprised Matta wasn't fired then for accepting the NIT bid.

USC (23-11)--2nd in the Pac-12, runner-up in the Pac-12 tournament, RPI: 34; How does Arizona St and UCLA get in and they don't? Probably my biggest snub.

Middle Tennessee (24-7)--regular season conference champion, OOC schedule that included Murray St, Auburn, USC, Miami (all on the road), RPI: 33

Louisville (20-13)--SOS: 14, RPI: 38, 2-1 vs Florida St, 2-0 vs VA Tech (both in the Big Dance); slightly better resume than Syracuse (in tournament)

St Mary's (28-5)--RPI: 40; How are they ranked 20th in the AP if they're not tournament worthy? Wins over tourney teams Gonzaga, New Mexico St

Boise St (23-8)--RPI: 49, OOC road wins--Iowa St, Oregon; home win over Loyola-Chicago (I know Iowa St had a down season, but ISU is usually pretty good and bad ass at home)

Vermont (27-7)--RPI: 60, Worthy of recognition at the very least. Close road losses vs Kentucky, St Bonaventure, Marquette, Bucknell.

Oklahoma St (19-14)--RPI 90; SOS: 52; Key wins: Kansas (2), Oklahoma (2), Texas Tech, Texas, Florida St, West Virginia. Compared to Oklahoma OSU has the advantage, but their RPIs are very far apart.

The chair of the selection committee said Notre Dame (20-14) was the last team in until Davidson won. ND was the next in line? Are you kidding me?

lmao. You gotta be here just to bitch about something right? You think 7 teams were snubbed?

USC's RPI is 34. No power conference school with an RPI higher than 49 has ever been left out ever since the field expanded to 68. Meanwhile, Arizona State makes it even though they finished eight in the PAC 12 and had an embarrassing early round exit in the conference tournament.

This first sentence of this post is completely wrong. lol

The bold is a complete myth. Also, what they did down the stretch doesn't matter.

What is USC's RPI then? I read it was 34 in a CBS Sports article. If you have better information than me, please let me know.

You have blinders on if you really think that.

Down the stretch? You mean over half the season.

It was the part about no P5 team with an RPI of 49 or better being left out. Or however you phrased it. USC isn't even the highest RPI P5 school to be left out.

That actually makes 0 sense to me. People keep saying "total body of work". I just don't understand that. 15 games is a huge portion of the season. We are not talking about a late 4 game slide. If you are trying to gauge the ability of an athlete are you going to rely on their 40 time as a 7th grader or their latest 40 time at the combine? If you are picking teams for a post season tourney, it makes sense to put greater weight on the 2nd half of the season, especially in a sport where teenagers are are a large portion of the participants
