Heh, I only posted the trailer because it was getting so much buzz on the Internet, but TBH, my own opinion is that it looks incredibly stupid.

The book is amazing, so I will definately go see it. It was more centered around the 80's though and despite never living in the 80's I loved that concept in the book of a time period's trends coming back 60 years or so later. I am worried they are going to screw it up with all the modern references.

I was thinking the same thing

I hate over-CGI'd movies. We have gotten better at it, but it still isn't good.

some of these scifi/fantasy style books they should just go full animation.

Looks like they are ruining the book to be honest. Everything I have seen makes it look like they threw out the book and started from scratch. Not really happy with what I am seeing, even little details like him living in Columbus is a minor detail casually thrown to the side. I can just tell they are foing to be extremely unfaithful to the source material. Upsetting to say the least.

I know nothing about the source material, but I was interested after the teaser, even if Spielberg hasn't done anything interesting since Munich, and if we talk about Sci-Fi, maybe the last good movie he made was Minority Report (War of the Worlds had a pretty good first half).

Saw a trailer for this before Black Panther. Just gotta say, as a guy who has played MMOs for nearly 20 years, there is no way the creator creator could have hidden ANYTHING in the game that would not be immediately data mined. There would be walkthroughs out on how to get "the prize" before it was even patched in.
