Wow, we finallygot to the Rags. Can't remember the last time we beat them? Now we are without a goalie... What do we look for? Rental or long term and cut Neuvirth at some point?

Depending on his injury(may be just a stretched clit muscle) or he may be done for a month who knows, if it's long term I say try to dump him, hope we can find a decent stop gap somewhere.

We need a veteran goalie to help us limp to the finish line. The team has worked way to hard not to get some support from the front office now.

I also think we need a good solid 3rd/4th line forward with playoff pedigree.
I am so happy with this team this year. Such a solid season so far. All of this and tons of help down the pipeline.

Hextall has set us up for a good 10 year run here

For me, the goalie with the best numbers right now that is still on a bad team is this guy:

Antti Raanta: .924 sv% and 2.45 gaa for Arizona

He would only be a rental, but that's really all we need here.

Also, those are better numbers than either of our goalies while on a team that has only 17 wins.

Well at least we all know @lasgop8 will be one happy man when he signs on Monday with the Flyers knocking off the Rags.

Neuvy being hurt is obviously a major issue, but to his credit, Lyon looked much better yesterday than he has in his career to this point.

I was against moving a pick for a rental backup goalie, but I think you have to do it now. The team has earned that.

Unfortunately, Pitt and NJ continue to keep pace. They did beat other rivals however and that really goes a long way toward ensuring we at least make the playoffs.

I think we have our sights set on the division title, but it will be nice to clinch a playoff spot sooner rather than later.

Right now, we have a six point lead and an extra game to play on the Canes, who are the first team out of the playoffs.

With the goal yesterday, Claude Giroux notched his 200th Nhl goal and also his 20th this season, a milestone he has now reached six times. He is also tied with McDavid for 3rd in league scoring, behind only Malkin and Kucherov.

G also tied and passed John LeClair, essentially my childhood hero, in points with 644 overall. He will pass Kerr and Lindros too with 16 points in our last 23 games, which is certainly possible. He'd then be 5th in Flyers history.

Not much more can be said. This guy is back on top of the world.

Is it me or is Nolan Patrick starting to like he really belongs?

Yes, although I think he is just scratching the surface of what he can become. I mean he is only freshly 19. Give him another year or two and we'll see where he's at, but you can see elite level hands and passing already, especially for a bigger guy. He doesn't hurt you anywhere defensively either.

He was 18, had the sports hernia surgery and then a concussion. I think we will see a special player sooner than later.

Not a ton of trade partners here in net moving forward. Lehner got hurt. Johnson has some terrible numbers. We turned down Detroit for Mrazek. Will San Jose part with Dell or Toronto with Pickard? There's Bernier in Colorado, but we've had our chances to acquire him before.

I still say Raanta, but what other options are there really?

Teams in the playoff race are probably not very willing to unload decent goalies and teams not in the playoff race probably don't even have a decent goalie...Lol

If Hexy is waiting for the price to go down on one of these guys, that seems risky given that we really only have one healthy goalie remaining. What if Lyon somehow goes down?

Whichever way they go, word is it'll happen tonight or early tomorrow with the Tuesday night game.

How could you not see this coming, team looks smokin good, with the exception of having to bank on Neuvy. The second we have to depend on him, he goes down.

Well, that answers the question of what happens if Lyon goes down.

We would literally have to recall Carter Hart from the WHL, our prized, 19 year old prospect, on an emergency basis. I don't think he would play, but that's pretty unreal regardless.

Then it would be Tokarski/Hart for the Flyers in net.

any word on the neuvy injury anyway?

I don't see any update on his lower body injury. Good luck. You type in "Michal Neuvirth injury" and Google narrows it to about 69,000....Lol

He's like Samuel L. Jackson's character in Unbreakable.
