Alabama backed into the CFP, but Georgia won the SEC and was a lock for the CFP, yet Georgia had to travel across the country to the Rose Bowl, while Bama basically had a home game at the Sugar Bowl.

Bama still won't win the NCG, but the committee obviously knew both teams would win their opening round games and were trying to give Bama the advantage of an easier traveling schedule.

Ummm...because Clemson was the #1 seed....Why under normal circumstances would the #1 seed want to have to play the #3 seed...to the benefit of the #3 seed?

Same reason we played Ohio St in the Sugar in 2015...it wasn't for Ohio State's benefit...it was for ours. If they were concerned about the #2 or 3 seed, we would have played FSU....which in hindsight probably would have been better for us.
