No excuses tonight, this has to be two points. The Sabres are the lowest scoring team in the Nhl. Kane is their only true scorer.

We need to jump all over them early on home ice and break their will. Get a nice lead on them and then cruise. We're in no position to let a team like this hang with us in our building. This inferior team has somehow gathered points in four straight, so we have to be ready to compete hard right from the drop of the puck.

I'll take Voracek for the first goal. He is pretty well overdue for one.

Looks like a totally different team out there. Al 4 lines contributing to at least playing in the offensive zone. Not exactly edge of your seat exciting tonight, but they looked in control for most of it after the first 4-5 minutes.

Prov and MacDonald had a great game as a pair.

Prov had about 50 shots towards the net 6 hits 2 takeaways
AMac 5 blocked shots 2 takeaways several zone clears

There was a point in the game where TK laid someone out in front of our net and Kane was just about to go into the scrum and start throwing punches and Sanheim grabbed him and didn't allow any of Kanes fist to start flying. That was a team play.

We will take the two points, but that was a pretty ugly win, to me. Buffalo probably would've scored 3-4 goals if they weren't completely snakebitten when it comes to scoring or if Elliott wasn't playing at a very high level. He should probably stay in net while he's playing this well too, because that goal by O'Reilly never should've happened. Gudas was there to cover that puck going deep and we had three other players back too. Then he wanders from the net again minutes later and Patrick saved what looked like another easy goal.

I will say this. If we play like this against Dallas tomorrow night, they might spank us like they just did the Islanders on the road.

Big night though for us in the division regardless. The Isles, Devs and Pens all go down. We technically climb to within two points of 5th in the Metro, which would currently be a playoff spot. We have games in hand on a few of these teams also. The more games we win in regulation, the more those 7 OT/SO losses start to actually look valuable.

We're showing a lot of discipline right now, more clutch play and some strong goaltending, but I think it will have to improve in order to push this win streak to 6 and beyond.

Great for the confidence of a young defenseman like Sanheim to get his first goal too. Boy, when guys like Hagg, Morin, Alt and Martel get their first Nhl goals, we know who is going to have the primary assist on them. Dale Fucking Weise....Lol!!!

That is going to be a seriously difficult trivia question years down the road...Rofl...

That's funny i didn't realize that Weise had the assist on all their first goals. I did notice him go and get the puck for Sanheim though.
