For the returns Im hearing for JBJ, id sell high on him in a heartbeat...Sensational defender who I dont see ever being much better than average offensively.....Hanley would be a tough one
Idk if JBJ will get too much better offensively (though he was a pretty good hitter in 2015-16), but his defense gives him a high floor IMO. If he bounces back to that level, he's a damn good player.

There is no way San Fran is trading Bumgarner.

career 126 OPS+, .358 OBP and plays good defense. I'd take him in a heartbeat.

If you get him out of AT&T those power numbers are probably gonna look a lot better too. Really tough park for LH power.

Another random small (and unnoticed) thing that he appears to be pretty good at to me is staying out of double plays. I count roughly 637 PAs in potential double play situations (man on 1st, less than 2 out) in his career and only 28 GIDPs. In all honesty I don't have much of an idea what an average rate is for something like that but Belt's rate seems awfully low to me at first glance.

Edit: using the 2017 MLB average would get you 70 GIDPs in the same number of PAs. So yeah, that confirms that he's pretty good at it.

Looks like the deal for Stanton is done. Just trying to find out who the Giants will give up.

I’m assuming any team that trades for him would get that opt out struck from the contract.

Then Stanton can just say, Fvck You!!!! I'm not changing my contract for anyone.

Then whomever wants him will have to take the contract or take a hike.

That’s true, but then the teams can just say, fuck you!!! We’re not giving a buttload of cash and prospects for a potential rental.

Then, if he’d have to acquiesce, or play for a shitty team that doesn’t want him.

The point is, it’s a negotiation.

Im not sure a trade of "we'll take his contract and buy you lunch." is a good idea tbh. (WHich is what the Tigers are hoping to get for Miggy.)

He breaks himself swinging a bat. 10 years 295 million left. And his youth is over.

Good odds he buries the franchise he's traded to.

Maybe the Angels then, since they are already buried under the Hamilton and Pujols contracts?

That's a great place for a guy to go.

If he's looking to kill his career. Lol

That'd be an impressive outfield, lineup wise.

That's a great way to bring Marlins fans back to the park.
