6 time All Pro, All decade team member

And the only competitor based on his production would be Ed Reed. Also, he changed the safety position, heart and soul of what was to be one of the consistently best and most attractive defenses in the NFL for about a decade (under immy Johnson).

That people consider Lynch and Polomalu legit candidates to go ahead of him is an embarassment. Moreso as Lynch career was made on a defense with 3 or 4 players better than him (and fellow HOF's).

Jimmy Johnson.........back to back Super Bowl Championships
And he was responsible for three championships in four seasons. Barry Switzer got to drive Jimmy's Ferrari.
Jimmy was the "REAL GM" of the DALLAS COWBOYS.
His players
His trades
His draft picks
His coaches
His attitude

How many coaches have won BACK TO BACK Super Bowl Championships?

seven

Steve Hutchinson

I could get in on this if he kept playing like he did in Seattle, he didn't. By about 2008/2009 he was making the Pro Bowl on reputation alone.

Walter Jones did a lot for that man's career.

He also got lucky to be around Bryant McKinnie for the 2 years that he was actually focused on football.

Who do you got?

Players.....Lewis, Lynch and Ward are the only ones I think should go 1st ballot, with Lewis being the only shoe in.
Many of the players on that list shouldn't go in at all IMO....

You think Ward was better than Moss?

Ray Lewis will get in...and given the history of the HOF, that'll be it for the defensive side of the ball. He should get in....in prison, but that's another story. The remainder will probably be offensive guys like Moss/Owens/etc. etc.

I'd personally like to see Roger Craig. For my own standards he's not a HOF'er, but given the standards set, he is. The only LT I've seen that can give Anthony Munoz a run for his money is Tony Boselli. I don't care if his career wasn't some 15 years long - when he was playing, he was the standard.

Urlacher is a HOF'er, and much closer in talent and ability to Lewis than most believe. Just because he didn't search out some camera to scream about himself or tell everybody how much of a leader he was....that shouldn't hold him out. Dawkins is another guy who should be in - definitely one of the best safeties of his era.

Pulling for Steve Atwater since he was a Bronco great and Richard Seymour and Hines Ward since they were UGA greats. Don't care about the rest.

I can't wait to see how the committee judge Randy Moss, after they made up a new standard with T.O.

You think Ward was better than Moss?

He was a bigger overall asset to his team than Moss....Moss was always a malcontent and a one trick pony, Hines loved to block as well as catch the ball in crucial moments of a game....Overall, a better player and accomplished more IMO.....

I liked Urlacher and Dawkins but, how long were either playing at a top level ?
What did they accomplish in that time, and how much did they mean to the teams success ???
Ray....17 yrs, 2 SB's, numerous Pro Bowls, the face of the franchise and a great leader on the field....
And did it all with 1 team, unprecedented in today's NFL....
Off the top of my head, only Tom Brady is in that same category and he's still playin'.....

Irrelevant AFAIC. This isn't about who deserves the HOF more than another....it's about who deserves to be there, period. Again...Tony Boselli's career was cut short due to injuries and he was every bit as good at LT as Ray Lewis was at MLB.

So in your mind, a player could have a 1 yr wonder moment and should be compared to someone that did it for 17 yrs ??????...
And last time I checked, you have to be able to stay healthy to play and be effective...That's imperative ...
Overall body of work is the measure I use, not sure what the hall'r judges do....They probably just call RG and see who he wants in .....

Who said 1 year? Who compared that? Again....this isn't a 'comparison issue.' This is a 'deserving' issue, and IMO, guys like Dawkins, Urlacher and Boselli deserve to be in the HOF.
