I would think it better if a team is challenged along the way so they'd be prepared for a tight game against a very good opponent when the time comes.

It may well be, though there have been moments where they have been tested early in games or in the third quarter. For instance:

In the opener, we were down 10-0 and responded with 59 straight points.

In the Nebraska game, for instance, Horni threw a pick-six early in the third to make it 17 all. The team responded with three straight TD drives to end the game while the defense had two turnovers and pitched a shutout.

After a dumb turnover, Purdue had the ball in the redzone down 17-9. The defense promptly got an interception.

Against Indiana, we were down 10-0. We scored a TD on our first drive after that on our way to a 28 point victory.

This past week, we threw a pick six to make it 17-14 despite us having ten times as many yards. After the offense was stopped, the defense promptly got a turnover. Their next drive, they got a defensive TD.

This team is calm. Both times I've seen them in person, that's been the most impressive thing about them. They can beat themselves for 35 minutes and know that they are in complete control if they don't do it for the next 25. It's how you can be untested despite having 19 turnovers in 10 games. I have zero concerns about this team's demeanor. At this point, my biggest concern (by far) is the injuries on the offensive side and the resulting lack of weapons. But again, this team has a mentality that no matter what obstacles come up, they will find a way. There is something mentally specially on both sides of the ball that was definitely missing on the defense in the last set of great teams that we had (2009-2012).

And do I think Clemson is better than Wisconsin? Yes. Why? Because they have better recruits, a better coach, a tougher schedule and they just got done winning a national title.

How difficult is it for Wiscy fans to understand? Your toughest game this year was a home game against Iowa. Prior to that was what? Northwestern? Then who — Indiana, Rutgers, Illinois, Utah State, BYU, Florida Atlantic?

Hell, even your game against UM isn’t a quality win, if you beat them. We’ve beat literally NOBODY. The only decent teams we played MSU and PSU, we lost. Now Wisconsin gets a QB who has never dealt with a loud road crowd or even a decent defense at home or the road.

You could literally list a dozen teams who’d be undefeated with Wisconsin’s schedule and make arguments for a few more.

Hell — I’d go a step further and say Michigan, who is extremely flawed, would be undefeated with Wisconsin’s schedule if we got to play Iowa at home too.

I'd swear that they were undefeated based on this post if I didn't know better. Again, they lost to SYRACUSE.

How the hell can you act certain that they would be undefeated with our schedule when they lost to a team that's worse than a bunch of teams on our schedule? And not only that, but they have been seriously tested by two other teams that are worse than teams on our schedule? It's fucking ludicrous.

People keep telling me we are 2015 Iowa. 2015 Iowa was #56 in yards per play and #23 in yards per play against. This year's Wisconsin is #25 in yards per play and #2 in yards per play against. 2015 Iowa had six games where opposing teams were within six points in the fourth quarter. 2017 Wisconsin has zero. 2015 Iowa was a solid team who beat equally solid teams by capitalizing on their mistakes. This is a Wisconsin team who has consistently made more mistakes than their opponents and still beat the shit out of them.

You can’t POSSIBLY believe that. If FAU and FSU played — FSU would be favored by double digits. FAU has played 2 P5 teams and lost by 24 to Navy and 17 to Wisconsin.

And ONCE AGAIN — the B1G has beaten nobody, but two of our ‘ranked teams’ were dominated AT HOME by ND and OU.

Our best win is Iowa over Iowa State before the QB change and Iowa State started winning.

Wisconsin’s best OOC win was FAU, who I’d wager isn’t in the top 50 in CFB
Michigan’s is Florida, who isn’t in the top 75 in college football.
Ohio State’s was........Army?
Penn State’s was........maybe Pitt?

The ‘ranked teams’ in the B1G are only ranked because they beat bottom feeders OOC and each other. The ‘ranked teams’ had two shots for quality wins and were blown out at home both games.

Again, not top 4 win best out of conference win which is indeed a better win than Bama's win vs FSU which will be demonstrated below.

You must conduct a game by game analysis of each team in that respective conference of the other conferences they faced and based on where those teams end up after the last game in the season we can conclude which conferences did well or not.

Overall I'd say the BIG came out equal to the ACC here as I believe the Northwestern loss was just a bad game for Northwestern combined with them improving like USC did last year.

12th ranked Minn slaughtered 11th ranked Oregon state by 34 points
10th ranked Nebraska loses to 8th ranked Oregon on the road by 7 points in a shootout
9th ranked Rutgers loses 4th ranked Washington by 16 points (Huskies needed a punt return and 2 int's to win as the total yards were almost equivalent).

Overall, I'd give a slight edge to the BIG with the way Rutgers showed up vs Washington and how Minnesota absolutely crushed Oregon St.


So BIG comes out with a winning record over the other P5 conferences as a whole and based off placement of each team within the respective conferences they're equivalent or greater than all the other teams based on the sample size.

As for Badgers win over FAU you're indeed wrong on this one. FAU is ranked 37th and 38th while FSU is ranked 41rst and 65th according to the CBS top 126 rankings and team rankings.com

ah... the stanford axe is the trophy for big game. tradition has representatives of each school, the stanford axe committee in our case and some derelicts cal drags off telegraph ave., bring the axe to the sidelines for the last minutes of the game. the committees engage in the 'stare down' until the game end where the axe is either exchanged or retained.

the committees are mainly there to see the axe gets safely off the opposing team's campus should the visitor win. it can get ugly, as per our 1900s fight song (since retired)

Yes, the game we missed 3 field goals and threw a pick at your goal line and STILL won by 7. That game. The one where you had 150 yards total and only crossed the 50 because your defense returned an interception 60 yards. Yep, that game. I will give it to you though, you did have that one drive you went 37 yards though (longest of the game for you)

So in conclusion — yes, that game last year when UM smacked you around. Get ready for round 2. Unless you become a spread offense in the next week, I expect to see much of the same. UM will stack the box and force your QB to complete a pass downfield.

Congrats on the win. Personally, I wouldn’t be too excited though. Wisconsin wasn’t impressive at all. When you face an actual quality team, which I’ve said UM is not numerous times on here (we’ve yet to beat a team with a winning record) — it is going to be ugly.

I think PSU or OSU are going to win by 2+ tds over Wisconsin. I’d even bet as lower ranked teams, they will probably be favored by at least a TD.

I am impressed with Taylor though. He is a great back. Hornibrook though — he is a turnover waiting to happen. If you give Wisconsin an elite QB, they’d be ridiculous
