T.Rex & Badfinger

I consider the late 60's to mid 70's the best period for music, so I'm trying to extensively re-visit bands from the period. Both bands had their lead singers die within 2 years of each other.

This is kind of a loaded topic... Like, bands who had some commercial success, but should have had more? Or just whatever you want to define as underrated?

Bands that aren't talked about as much as you think they should have been.

well, tom petty and phil collins (and to a lesser extent, peter gabriel) got all the glory, but i always thought that both genesis and the traveling wilburys never got nearly enough recognition for their rockin rollin' skills

I have always wondered what Marc Bolan would have done musically if had lived. He was very unique muscially.

Ahhh, Phil Collins who produced a string of Eric Clapton records and just about destroyed Clapton's career.

I’m gonna have to steal @yoga≈surfing ’s 10cc

Uriah Heep
Frank Zappa
Emerson, Lake and Palmer

And the most underrated (drum roll) *Harry Chapin.

*fixed.

I agree w/ Uriah Heep.

But Zappa & ELP were, and are still pretty much well known, respected & enjoyed world wide.

Did Harry Chaplin get an asterisk because he is a single artist or folk rock status, because he was great. A great human being as well.

Saw Uriah Heep in San Diego in the mid 70s and loved 'em. Blew the roof off the place.

I saw them a handful of times...as headliners, as openers...or part of a large lineup.
During the mid 70's...and into the early 80's.
w/ Jethro Tull, Deep Purple, April Wine, Nazareth, Styx, Blue Oyster Cult, Wishbone Ash.

Mudhoney. They were every bit as important to the Grunge scene as any other band you can think of, with none of the main stream success as some of them.
