Why isn't there a bigger Miami (FL) fanbase on here?

Sure it isn't da U of the early 2000s, but it is one of the 3 premier programs in Florida and they have a huge history of success and NFL talent.

The lack of ACC fans in general on here is.. interesting.

I wouldn't mind 3 or 4 of them telling us why the playoff committee should have the Hurricanes ranked higher.

They never really had much of a fan base, historically. Miami just isn't a "college" town

Very often "fans" of CFB teams actually went to college at that school. Miami is a small, fairly average private school costing $60k per year. So, the student population consists of the kids of rich people from Latin American countries and only barely intelligent momma's bois.

American football just isn't their cup o' tea. Most Miami fans don't understand why they never play the Dolphins.

Agreed. Those days are over. They may enjoy a good season here and there but the dominance they had in the late 80's-90's will never be reached again. The program doesn't even have its own stadium.

Their fan-base kind of peaked in the late 80s to early 90s, and they've sort of sputtered along since then.

Because Miami fans were straight bandwagon fans and bandwagon fans usually find a different team once their team starts sucking

This is the truth. It's like Duke in basketball. When they're good the little kids like them, then they're part of the fanbase. Since Miami suffered from a prolonged period of average, those fans migrated to other things and haven't been back. They probably won't be unless Miami gets into the playoffs, then some will come back, if they win it all, there will be plenty that will claim "I've been with them the entire time". Such is the life of a bandwaggoner...

The majority of ACC fans are divided. 3/4's are anxiously waiting for the gym to open and the
other 25% are gathered at the Lacrosse Field. Except BC, they're all down at the rink.

Wow...that photo of the stadium prior to the renovation/rebuild is quite striking when compared to the new look....fans are a lot closer to the field in the new version:
