Steelers cut Limas Sweed

Pittsburgh Steelers add secondary depth, cut WR Limas Sweed - ESPN

I remember a few guys on here (including myself) liked Sweed coming out of college. I thought he was the best WR of that class (at the time). Coming off of an Achilles injury i wonder if anyone would dare to pick him up.

I haven't watched as many Steeler games, so i will take your word for that. It seemed like they had high expectations for him, but the '08 receiver class was so weak that Sweed, Devin Thomas, and Malcolm Kelly probably got drafted higher than they should have. IMO you guys have enough WR depth there that this makes a lot of sense.

tomlin gave him tons of chances he just couldnt hang on to the ball in pressure situations .. couldnt figure out why .. ben would hit him on the numbers and he would drop it ...

He'll get snapped up by some team. It's nice to have a guy with that size and speed stashed on your bench.

The Chargers used to stash and develop big receivers on their bench and they turned into Vincent Jackson and Malcom Floyd.

Oh, i agree with you. I just thought i remembered a lot of excitement on Bens part as well as the Steelers in general. Luckily Wallace has worked out quite well for you guys and Emanuel Sanders looks promising as well.

I know he went off to the army to be a dentist i believe(army for sure)... he came back and posted a bit but haven't seen him since...

Played madden with him on the ps3 a couple times, damn he had me with freaking haralson.

That's the way to do it. In retrospect, I probably should have joined the military as a solid way in paying off loans.
