We disagree. The opportunities were there in abundance and they did not capitalize.

So, I'm just trying to understand your logic here:

It's ok they were down 5-0, they should have scored more than the other team.

But it's not ok to try to prevent being down 5-0 because the players should have been better.

But if it was expected that the team could/should outscore the other team because of opportunities, then why even pull Darvish at all? If Roberts had that much faith, he should have let it ride right?

Conversely, I'm confident that the watery shit I took this morning knows far more about pretty much everything on Earth than you do.
I recommend Preparation H for that case of butthurt you have. LOL! You make this too easy.

But my point is the players have a much larger impact on the game and are much more important than the manager. Otherwise why is it the manager they dump and not the players?
I'm pretty sure everyone knows the players play the game, but your assertion that "he was the best Roberts had available and he went with him" is patently false based on the innings pitched by Kershaw.

Far more insightful is pegging Roberts as the reason the Dodgers lost; far more. The two statements you make above cannot be challenged. Had either of those happened, the Dodgers win. You keep digging this hole for yourself and for the life of me I cannot figure out why.

Whatever you say, dude. Have you happened to notice how everyone who has commented about this is disagreeing with you ? But you carry on, Mr Baseball.

Because good pitching beats good hitting, magnified in the playoffs. Roberts should know this.

With 20/20 hiundsight your first statement stands up, without it it doesn't so there is no need to comment on this further. Roberts made a decision that did not pan out. But you knew that, you are not that dumb, you are just playing dumb.
As for the second statement, Yes, the Dodger hitters failed in their performance. They had to pick the pitcher up and they did not. Its not like the Astros had Cy Young out there on the hill. We are talking about McCullers, Peacock and Morton; not exactly household names or guys that put any fear into the minds of hitters.

We've moved on from your nonsense. You are out of the conversation.

Conversation? There's been no conversation, son. You posted some stupid shit and I've been mocking you since.

The rest of the thread -- which has piled on you and your stupidity -- is doing a fine job pointing out how fucking dumb you actually are. They clearly have the patience to suffer fools. I don't, so I just mock them.

Just you and a couple of others who believe they know more about the Dodgers than Roberts does. That right there gets rid of any credibility you might have. he's managing the Dodgers and getting paid a million dollars to do it. You, on the other hand, are at home wasting time on a message board. Who would you have me believe in, him or you?

Those guys shut out the Yankees, who had arguably a better offense than the Dodgers, in Game 7 of the ALCS. But yeah, they're no good because they're not household names. . .

You are a talking meatball.

You're going about that all wrong, City.

If you want to understand his logic, huff some ether, chug a pint of MD 20/20, and run head first into a wall. You need many more misfiring synapses to get to this shit.

I doubt he even had Kershaw in mind until Darvish lost it out there but clearly Roberts thought Darvish was his best option or he wouldn't have left him out there.....unless of course you believe there was a conspiracy and Roberts wanted to lose the game....ooh there's a credible idea.

So in 2014 do you think Bochy didn't have Bumgarner in mind? That's ridiculous if you think Kershaw wasn't always an option in this game.

What!!!! The shorter the time period involved, the more the hitters gain on the pitching edge. Over a 162 game schedule I agree wholeheartedly that good pitching beats good hitting but that goes out the window in a short series as does almost every baseball adage.

Do you realize that the foundation of your stance here is that managers don't make mistakes ? It doesn't seem like you do. Managers get paid a lot of money to minimize those mental errors. Roberts clearly made one last night by leaving Darvish in too long. Many people saw that it was a mistake long before he gave up 5 runs and they said so at the time. I happened to be one of them.

So, we've established that Monty here is a talking meatball, but what we haven't figured out is what kind of talking meatball. Is he an Italian talking meatball? Or maybe one of the Swedish variety? I kind of like that. He's a Swedish talking meatball. I can imagine him sounding a bit like the Swedish Chef from the Muppets.

Hur-de-hooo, and whatnot.

LOL! Yeah McCullers was so nervous he hit 4 batters in two innings. That Astro pitching was awesome, baby!. Maybe you don't recall the complete breakdown of the Astro pen in game 5? Good lord, tool. put away the shovel.
