Which bullpen has the best chance of pitching in the World Series this year? The Injuns or the Astros?

Obfuscation.

I never said the Indians would win the World Series.

You said the Astros' bullpen was a strength and "built for the postseason."

Tough time for Polar, he told me Charlie Morton was the best pitcher in the playoffs

Its not easy mentally to bounce back from that, the Yankees have completely crippled that lineup......Outside of the Gurriel hit, they loaded the bases on 2 walks and a catchers interference

I have faith that Tanaka will be great, I just hope Keuchel isnt super great..........Hinch will prob let him throw 130 pitches tonight
Peacock is still going to figure into this series before it is over. He had a great second half. One bad start against bawstun and the Asstros give up on

Maybe they were just dicussing that first start, cause I know watching that, all i kept saying was "This going doesnt throw a strike"

Could be, but like Polar said, if he really only threw 10% of his pitches for strikes over the season, I don't see how he'd have any success.

To your point, though, if it is true of Game 1, there could be a toehold for the Yanks' bats there.

Now, now, Dirty. You're only telling half the story. Actually it is only one quarter of the story. I said Morton is as good as any pitcher in the playoffs when he's got Uncle Charlie working for him. Clearly it was not Monday night.

His late movement is insane, everything looks like a strike, but lands in the glove off the corners, seemingly every time

LOL.....I actually was pretty impressed with Morton for a few innings, his velocity was much higher than I thought, think he hit 99 a time or 2........He really didnt get battered, the Frazier HR was just ridiculous

Be interesting to see who gets the DH nod tonight

Im afraid he goes with Headley after a big hit, but Headley is an awful RH hitter

Holliday looks like a guy with 3 AB's in 2 months

They would never go Torryes, but I would, he's a contact guy that can turn a routine grounder into a base hit

Astros should start Peacock today. As the rotation stands now, if it goes to 7 games, Morton would get the game 7 start. They are better off having Keuchel and Verlander going at home for the last two games.

"The Yankees have won more World Series in leap years than any other team."
~soxfan14986907984045985
That is true, they have 7. The only other team with more than 2 is actually the Red Sox (1912, 1916, 2004). The Indians and Phillies each have 2 World Series wins, and both came in leap years.

So maybe 2020 Slinky?

That was so nasty. The game was on in our living room, but no one was really paying attention to it. I was just about to put the kids to bed and Slink Jr said, "Dad, what happened?" This is when play had stopped and they were showing all the players/coaches/fans' faces. I rewound it, and... OH SHIT when I saw what happened.

Slink Jr said, "I don't think it's broken, I think his shoe just fell off." Yeah, that's it, kiddo. Think happy thoughts, lets go to sleep.
I was doing the same bedtime routine. Yes, save the children, Hayward will be back in 6 months as he recovers from the dislocated shoe.

I agree completely, but i could see the flipside where Houston needs to stop the bleeding and losing 3 straight can really put that team in a funk they may not bust out of mentally, at least the lineup, Im sure Keuchel and Verlander would be fine

Good question, there are plenty of fits on young teams......The Bears have no WR's and a young QB....Jacksonville can use a playmaker on the outside, even if the jets got their QB next season, it wouldnt be a terrible fit

If we say this season for a playoff push?......Put Thielen back in the slot, Diggs/Bryant/Thilen/Rudolph would be pretty damn good

According to fangraphs, 63% of his pitches this season were balls. Which is the 2nd highest in baseball for pitchers with at least 140 IP.

Hmmm, so I guess the 87% from Game One is possible

And, now that I have your attention, the Dodgers own the record for most World Series losses in leap years. They are 1-4 while the Yankees are 7-3. The Braves are 0-3 and have the most losses without a win in leap years. The Red Sox, at 3-0, hold the record for most wins without a loss.

How many do the Mariners have?

Oh wait, nevermind.
