the new helmets absorb more energy. thats what the flap on the front is partially for. divert energy.thought they were working on a soft helmet that would greatly reduce concussions?
Right now the helmets are hard even the padding inside is extremely hard.
I look at it like a car built in the 70's very tough car but when it hits a wall it passes all that energy to those inside causing much more damage to those inside the car, than cars nowadays with crumple zones. Which disapates some of that energy.
Really think they need to come out with a softer helmet that gives. Which I know they are looking into, but makes me wonder why are they not expediting this research?
yeah I seen these helmets, but saw a piece awhile back on a helmet that has no hard shell on it. You can literally see it flex when dropped on the ground from a distance. people wont be so quick to use a soft helmet as a weapon.the new helmets absorb more energy. thats what the flap on the front is partially for. divert energy.
