What do you mean baked beans in molasses? The maple syrup kinds? I hate those anyways.
Not sure about the maple syrup? Maybe some brands use maple syrup? Most I know of like Boston baked beans use molasses and brown sugar. Anything in moderation. But if you want to get nutritional value from beans avoid the baked bean version. Plenty of other beans out there to enjoy and benefit from.

The only draw back to raw veggies, generally speaking is some can be very hard to digest. All fresh veggies are good for the majority of people.

I'm lucky I like beans but more than that beans have a lot of soluble fiber, carbs, protien and iron. They are a great source of nutrition. A small know fact peanuts fall into the legume family. That doesn't mean go eat a bunch of dry roasted salted peanuts though.

But if you drain the cans after opening, and add fresh water then a lot of those sugars go away right?[/QUOTE]
Yes and no all depends on the brand. If you go canned read the label. Some put way to much chemicals and preservaties in their cans to increase shelf like and maintain color... fresh is best but cans work better than none at all. That and drink copious amounts of water every day.

I recently ordered a Nutri-bullet(not the ninja too expensive) but ended up having the order cancelled.
I have a Vitamix and love it. I use it for my morning smoothie throw in seeds/stems no issue and also make lots of soups with it. Cleans up super easy. Well worth the investment in my opinion.

Oh no doubt you have to cycle. You know like the Raven players:sorry: well not the same cycle. Competition time is crazy boiled skinless chicken breast, eggs water, lots of water.
Like I said earlier I'm no longer anywhere near that serious. Unlike the super healthy moring delight @PhoenixEagles1 makes every morning. I add more fruits and protien powder. It definetely kicks starts your metabolism. I need to cut out some of the fruits and add more veggies.
Bottom line, Americans need to get off the fast food, artificial flavored/colored and chemically infused foods. Nothing I enjoyed more than living and travelling overseas was all the fresh food. Daily trips to the market. But even now underdeveloped countries have KFC and Burger King:doh:

And therein lies the jihad on health in general.....Chemicals and fat...
I don't even eat red meat at all because of those very reasons....Even if you find ones that claim organic fed/no roids, etc....Even the best cuts red meat is 40% fat and does not have the amino's in it to allow your body to absorb the even half the protein in it....You can drink milk with it to help combat the protein problem but the fat is still there to deal with...
I tried counting calories yrs ago and hated it so I focused on the fat ratio of mono and sat and keeping the whole total down as well...Limit the sugars except for natural and work out regular....Works great for me !!
But Thanksgiving and Christmas, I jump ship a little and really enjoy the holidays with family and friends....

Raw veggies are very good but certain ones like Kale and Spinach actually have a higher nutrient rate when steamed. I'm a huge fan of the Ninja Bullet. For 3 years straight by breakfast has been a 50 ounce blended drink of Kale, Carrot, Tomato, Blueberry, Ginger root, turmeric root, flax seed, Chia seed and spring water. I lost 15 pounds FAST and never get those periods of low energy around 1pm. I've eaten more Veggies in the last 3 years then I did in the previous 40. Kale is an amazing food.

That is good to lose weight, and for bikers, but you won't build any significant muscle mass on that diet....
And that may be the right thing for you, but when you get to the weight you want to be at, you'll have to adjust it some to maintain instead of keep losing....

It's just one meal a day. You have plenty of opportunities to add protein to your diet and calories as well to stop the weight loss. I'm older so mass gain isn't my MO, I like the cut look better but that's personal preference. I highly recommend cause muscle doesn't keep you alive, nutrients do. Good luck my man

Well you didn't mention any high protein foods in your post is why I say that...
But yes muscle does keep you alive,
#1 your heart is a muscle, ain't living long without it and if you didn't have any muscle to operate the body, you wouldn't be able to feed yourself those nutrients....One is no good without the other !!!
But I am an oldie too so I understand those differences also, if that is your goal as I said, then go for it....
I like to fill the sleeves out on my shirts still so I cycle the workouts and diet accordingly to accomplish and maintain it...that's just that old baby boomer macho in me I guess, but I like it !!!:D

True but you don't need protein for your heart but for muscle growth you're totally correct. I like big arms too. I'm one of those dude that do 90% bi's and tri's and bench more then I squat. Pathetic! :)

NW, you're trying to lead this young man to a lonely life with all those beans in the diet....:dhd:
Busch's Vegetarian baked beans are not bad, when you add some, just use a drain spoon and drain most of the juice off if you're that worried over it....It's never made any negative on me that I can tell, and man they taste mighty good with some steamed carrots, sweet potato's and broccoli..And a nice piece of flounder, yeah buddy !!

And Height 4 feet tall....:D....Pancakes for breakfast is a horrible start of empty calories and no nutritional benefit at all....The Fat Express is what I call it....
The strongest muscles on an overweight person is their legs and back because they have to keep pulling that load of lard up off the couch everyday....deadlifts is also one of the easiest lifts you can do....No offense, just sayin' !!

Should have did it. Life changer. Not dramatically but I don't get those low energy levels during the day anymore and you can slam down a ton of Veggies in 20 seconds. Like a 1/2 head of Kale, a big tomato, a carrot, a little ginger, turmeric and a small carton of blue berry's with chia/flax seed in no time. It would take me all day to eat a salad that big and I knock it out in less than a minute. My triglycerides went down substantially too.

I can still get it. I just have so much cc payments atm.

Your body will adapt to raw veggies but all that fiber can throw you for a loop if you haven't been eating fiber. Fiber is so important for weight loss, heart disease and cancers.
Beans are a great food. Protein, ton of fiber. You should eat brown rice with it to make it a complete protein. Very cheap too!

I didn't make that post, another poster did. Why is my name shown on that post?

Squats, bro. Squats, deadlifts, bench, pullups, military. Bar on shoulders, ATG

I did squats, deadlifts for over four months and it did little for me. When I switched to weighted machines I have seen more difference.
