ok, "like always" was poor wording on my part... I agree with that.. Just mean regular season
I don't really care how they played at the end of the regular season in 2014/2015. Both years I just wanted to see how Bogaerts and Betts would progress.

Last year is the only year that we can point to where they actually had something to play for in the final few games as homefield was still up for grabs between the Indians/Rangers/Red Sox.

This year though, if the Yankees lose this afternoon, they are locked into the 3-seed. There's nothing to play for. There's an argument that you want to get the bats going, but I think the more pressing issue is health. 5 or 6 days of rest might be more beneficial.

True players aren't that healthy right now... and perhaps Sale and Porcello do need the rest after there last few outings.. Nice, I thought the Yankees played a night game tonight.

Though playing poorly down the stretch did prevent them from getting to the post season but that's besides the point

anyway..

HAPPY FRIDAY!!! BOUT FING TIME! NOW HURRY UP 5 PM!
Well that's not true at all. 2015 they entered September 7.5 games behind the 2nd wild card team with 6 teams in between them. Then from September 4-September 30 they went 17-8 but were still eliminated going into the final 4 games.

2014 they entered September, 14 games behind the 2nd wild card. They were eliminated long before the stretch run.

Had nothing to do with their play down the stretch, but their play from April-August.

It's weird, Friday afternoon game. Tanaka going and he got lit up by Toronto last time he faced them.

So that probably means he will pitch a gem today then

There is a lot of panic going on around the Red Sox right now, and I can understand why, but let's not forget they went 14-3 in the 17 games prior to losing 3 out of 4.

I just think Houston and Cleveland are clearly the top 2 teams in the AL this year.

Exactly I really don't get it. Are they not allowed to have 1 bad week of baseball? You would think they're playing how the Dodgers were a few weeks ago with the way some of your fans act

Yes you are... However, when Sale isn't pitching well (granted he'll be fine) and the hitting has been inconsistent (more consistent as of late) it's understandable why we are..

Also - I'm just super negative in my entire life right now so I clearly will be more jaded then I should.

That is the only thing I would be concerned about.

Red Sox magic number down to 1 no thanks to them. Thank you Tampa! Could clinch before they even take batting practice with the Blue Jays/Yankees playing a Friday afternoon game.

Cardinals loss officially eliminates them from postseason play. Back to back years without a playoff appearance for the first time since 2007/2008 and only the second time this millennium.

Stanton hits HRs number 58 and 59. Without any true races left, this could be the story of the weekend.

Indians win moves them to a magic number of 2 to clinch homefield throughout the playoffs.

Brewers get a must win to stay alive going into the final weekend. 2 down with 3 to play. Come on Brewers, I want bonus baseball on Monday!

That just warms my heart.

Well, it probably doesn't help that their ace has a 4.09 ERA over the last two months (it's 9/29, I can say "two months" now), and most recently got his lunch eaten by a weak hitting Blue Jays team.
