Not at all. I didn’t want to post for 11 since it was retired so early for one of the greatest players ever (Hubbel). As for tonight, I was at the Pad/DB game, so I couldn’t post.

Speaking of which, OMG. The ball was LAUNCHING tonight. I don’t think I have ever been to a 3-HR game, let alone a 3-HR game in a losing effort...

3-HR games are exciting to watch. A few years ago, I got a chance to see in seats behind home plate in Anaheim, provided by the Boras Corporation, and watch Torii Hunter launch 3 in one game. I think the Angels won that one but I cannot remember for certain.

In the last 23 games, the Giants have have not had a two-out RBI in 14 of those games, losing 11 and winning 3.

On the season, they have 70 games with no two-out RBI, winning 16 and losing 54 (a .229 winning percentage)

Timely hitting has got to be a priority for next season.

Also, the Giants are 8-33 with 1 walk or less, and 24-60 with two walks or less. So plate patience may also be a thing.

The hitting strategy is part of the DNA of the org. We have known that since AT LEAST ‘08 or so. Remember how Carney Lansford’s ran for the hills screaming.

The good news: Atlanta, San Diego, Oakland and Pittsburgh were all mathatically eliminated from the race yesterday. The bad news: Philadelphia, Detroit and Chicago are all hanging tight. It might take a 100 loss season to get the 1st pick.
Giants 60-94
Phillies 61-93 1
Tigers 62-92 2
White Sox 62-91 2.5
Reds 66-86 6
Mets 66-87 6.5

In case of a tie, the 2016 record will be used as a tie-breaker...

Reds 68-94
Phillies 71-91
White Sox 78-84
Tigers 86-75
Giants 87-75 (84-78)
Mets 87-75 (90-72)

The Giants lose the tie-breaker against everyone except the Mets, so their magic number is actually one more than reported. I will reflect this moving forward.
