Don't think we will see Stanton here with that contract and what we would have to give up.
The contract brings the price down some.

Too much and this type contract has kept us handcuffed to longDon't think we will see Stanton here with that contract and what we would have to give up.
So.... Stanton & Otani
Follow the money trail.I agree 100% on otani
It's been awhile since this team had an exciting free agent.
I hope the front office has done a good job of laying the ground work, Darvish doesn't have too much influence over him, and that we can reel him in.
If he goes to the dodgers I'll strangle someone...
King Felix is starting tonight, and it's his first since coming off the DL. Maybe he'll be rusty.
Not much better than this year's rotation if any. You are substituting Darvish with Otani. It will be interesting to see if we can get Ohtani to sign with us, and to me, even more interesting on how we try to develop him.
He could be a #2 start, #3 at worst, so if we got him, resign Cashner, then we'd have Hamels/Othani/Cashner/Perez and ?? How's that sound?
Our problem with starting pitching is that we have done a terrible job of some combination of drafting and developing and keeping our own pitchers. We have been really bad at drafting and developing for so long that it is inexcusable that there hasn't been some wholesale changes within the organization in those areas over the last couple of years. You simply cannot sign and trade for all of your good pitchers. You have to be able to develop some of them. JD acknowledged that we need to develop our own ace when Cliff Lee didn't sign here and yet nothing significant has been changed to accomplish that goal. That is as big of an indictment against JD as any of the poor trades or poor signings.not bad not good. The only numbers Cashner has going for him is era, his other numbers are well below average some are worst for a starter. Perez has to depend on his offense to survive and get wins. Out of his last 7 wins i give him credit for 1 maybe 2 of the wins, the other 5 or 6 belong to the team
What you would give up would be related to how much of his contract you took off of their hands. If we simply traded for him and assumed all of his contract we wouldn't have to give up anything of much significance. If we offset the money due him by getting them to eat part of his contract then we would have to give up value, but it would not bankrupt the farm. They have overpaid him and getting out from under that is their primary goal.Don't think we will see Stanton here with that contract and what we would have to give up.
I think it brings it down very substantially. The contract brings the price down some.
This organization is in "Anything But Profar" mode right now.Odor can't walk without limping, and Banny still will not sit him.
Going forward the lineup has to be built by JD with the idea in mind that Beltre is going to miss half the season. If our lineup isn't up to par without Adrian then that is the fault of the ones in charge of acquiring the proper players to fill out the lineup. From this point forward whatever you get from Adrian has to be considered a bonus and should not be counted on.Without Adrian in the line up this is just not the same team.
I got that feeling a few months back.Starting to get a
" this team is done" feeling. The Beltre injury probably did them in.
I am 54.I'd really like to know the average age on this board.
I know DT is an esteemed elderly gentleman and I think Romeo is around my age.
So trueThis organization is in "Anything But Profar" mode right now.
