Things that are better and worse on these boards

Just some first impressions from people.

I like that they are seemingly troll free (huge bonus). I like the ability to embed links and video in the message itself. I like that if I press refresh or go back, my message is still here. The options when making your post are just much better than the site that can't be named.

Only thing I don't really like is how large every message is and the signature lines. I wish the default font was a little smaller and that there was just less "admin. info" in general. You can click on people's profile to learn more, it just seems to clog up the right hand column with useless info and you have to scroll more to read the actual content.

That's my $0.02.

I like the ability to say certain things and more freedom of choice with avatars. The quick reply option is also very nice.

I really like the interface overall. I also like the fact that my trademarked "=)" can appear as a signature automatically on all of my posts. It's just a cleaner format overall.

Also, there's a topic search option. That will be a huge help, especially for things like the POTY and playoff pools.

Signatures... I thought about getting rid of them, but I haven't had any complaints.

Default font... It could be smaller, but we have a lot of people who post from their phones (like right now). The current font size is just right to read on a iphone and similar devices.

Admin info... I'm assuming that you mean the left hand column? I'm sure that once you get use to that information being there, you won't want it to disappear.

Best thing about this site? We can change whatever we want, and as long as it improves the quality of the board, I'm all for it.

SportsHoopla has gone through a lot of changes since December, and those changes have mostly come from suggestions like yours.

Oh, I forgot to mention that I really love how you can see who is online at the bottom. That's kinda cool, since I can post a question about the Pens if I see 4-5 Pens' fans are on, or I could talk about how not to score goals if several Devils fans are online. ; )

Oh... if ever there is a movement to get rid of a poster, contact a mod and a poll will be put up to decide if that person stays or goes. The board as a whole will decide who gets kicked off. Unless under extreme circumstances. SportsHoopla is a self-governed board.

I was just telling SFNL that I'm not a big fan of the poll-ban. It drags out the drama and takes the focus off of sports.

Let's not do the poll-ban. Usually I talk to a few people who I trust and use my own judgment.


Having said that, lets not focus on admin or rules or other BS...

ghost, I like the format and layout. I've been to a few other boards that use the same software, so it's very familiar to me.

I like signatures, and haven't hit this from my phone yet, but that's a nice touch.

Great board so far. Thanks for being so accommodating. And you'll get used to us.
