Maybe McGregor should have been able to fight until getting knocked down, but the fight was over when it was stopped. McGregor hadn't gotten his hands above his chest in like the 30 seconds or so prior to the ref ending it.

That match was a big ol WWE match. Mayweather didn't even engange in the fight until like the 4th or 5th round. Floyd just wanted to make it look good while letting Connor tire himself out

Yeah, it was stopped at the right time. You could see McGregor getting gassed a few rds. beforehand, and he was done at the point of the stoppage.

No. McGregor was done. That fight gets stopped under those circumstances every time. Even if he'd made it to the bell on his feet, he was done. It was a decent match for most of the fight, but it was obvious how it was going to end at that point. It would have just been target practice until he fell.
