How are late first round picks better than Oladipo and Sabonis???

The Lakers offer was either Clarkson or Randle and both late 1st rounders. Oladipo and Sabonis aren't likely to be better than either Clarkson or Randle and had the Pacers done a good job of scouting, maybe not the late first rounders either.

Had the Pacers been patient, word out here is that they could have gotten both Clarkson and Randle plus the late 1st rounders. That's a damn good haul for a guy that wanted out and everyone knew he wanted out.

You should probably just admit you're bitter that the Pacers didn't want to negotiate with your team in trade talks...

Why would I be bitter? It looks like the Lakers may get PG and have to give up nothing for him. If anything, you're bitter that the Pacers made a hasty move and didn't get what they could have for PG and are desperately trying to make the trade look better than it was.

You should probably just admit that the Pacers fucked up and move on. You won't though, because you are incapable of doing so.

dude....Deng? lol.....youd have to give up something substantial just to be able to trade Deng.

trading Deng is a net negative...a huge net negative....you couldnt give Deng away for free.

TLF Zone on that one. lol

I think that was the idea - Magic wanted PG, but also wanted to dump Deng without giving up Lonzo Ball and Indiana along with other teams wanted LB

Sorry, but I'm calling bullshit. PG wanting to be a Laker had been the worst kept secret in the NBA for at least 6 months and I've seen reports that say it's been known for a year. So no, PG wasn't 2 faced about anything. Also, it wasn't too long after the season was over that his agent informed the Pacers of what everyone already knew...PG wanted out and wanted to go to the Lakers.

You can try to continue to put this on PG all you want, but no one is buying it. The Pacers fucked up by not taking action and by taking the worst deal they were offered. From the look of it, they didn't even try to get more from the Celtics or the Lakers. Had they been patient, they could have definitely gotten a better deal from the Lakers and probably from the Celtics too.

Again, I'm calling bullshit. The only "evidence" they have is Magic tweeting "God is good" after the announcement that PG wanted out and wanted to go to the Lakers (which probably doesn't qualify as tampering) and the Kimmel interview (which probably does). The Kimmel interview was in April. The Pacers took 4 months to gather "evidence" that has been available on youtube for all of that time.

If you think the Kimmel interview was the only grounds for filing these charges, then you're only deluding yourself. As far as being two-faced - Yes, he may have had L.A. desire for the last year or maybe even two, but behind the scenes here in Indiana he's had private conversations about what systems he wishes to play, what players for the Pacers to add and whatnot. You clearly have no idea about what could possibly take place behind the scenes here in the midwest, and it's the point I made to you on another thread - As long he wants to come to YOUR team, you feel the obligation to defend him at any twist and turn.

Deng was never part of the discussion. It was Clarkson or Randle and the 2 late first rounders. Word is, the Lakers were willing to go Clarkson and Randle plus the 2 1st rounders.

He missed the point - I think Magic would have gladly given up something substantial to move Deng - Randle, Clarkson, the late first rounders for PG - would have been fair as long as the Lakers didn't give up Lonzo Ball. I agree that the Lakers would have or will have to give up something big, but I think the Lakers will wait on Deng now

Randle def. still has some upside- but that dude needs to find his niche.

he def. cant play center....as a PF he doesnt have range and is really bad defensively....hes a good rebounder and slick around the basket.....but if you cant guard the rim and you cant shoot the 3- and you cant play D....you gotta figure something out.

esp. since wont Randle get paid this next offseason? is he restricted?

Yes, he's due for a massive payday. Don't really know what separates this from the contract of Oladpio, except for that fact that Laker(s) fans begged us to take their players so they could have George.

It is. Literally no one has shown or talked about anything else. The NBA has even said that the Lakers are cooperating fully and so far, there have been no findings. Pretty sure that if there was some "smoking gun" the Pacers would have already presented that evidence and it would already be out.

Doesn't bother me. Pacers got screwed big time and the Lakers will end up getting PG for free next season, along with lebron.

They can then trade Randle and/or Clarkson for something decent.

yah...Randle's value since he is on the verge of being a restricted free agent is minimal....

i wouldnt want to pay Julius Randle some where between 10M and 16M dollars--- let alone give up something good to get him.

That would have been a good trade - Lakers would have had -

Paul George
Lonzo Ball
Brook Lopez
Brandon Ingram
Kent Pope -

But you have three guards here - so losing Randle would have created a big hole in the forwards
But I think they would have give up Randle to get PG

what was it then?

this is what i saw and remember

Just heard @Lakers offered @Pacers either Jordan Clarkson or Julius Randle and 27, 28 pick for Paul George.

Yes, it was Clarkson or Randle plus the 2 late 1st rounders. The Lakers were also willing to make it Clarkson and Randle plus the 2 first rounders, but the Pacers weren't patient and jumped on the OKC deal.

Well the Pacers aren't dumb enough to share their findings with the media during an ongoing investigation, when they were in fact instructed to decline further comment.

But you got a better deal, right?

And now Pritchard is a little butthurt bitch

i havent seen anything that said they would have given up both--- and i see no evidence to corroborate that what so ever- but it makes sense in that- if i am the Lakers- i dont think id want to pay RAndle what hes gonna demand next summer when i am going after a lot bigger fish anyway and Randle doesnt really do much.

he rebounds...and hes pretty slick around the basket--- but hes not a good defender....cant shoot from the outside, and absolutely cant defend the rim....I gotta think you either need to be able to defend the rim/play defense or shoot from the outside to be a viable starting PF in todays NBA....Randle is still young- but i wouldnt want to pay what hes gonna demand to find out if he does/doesnt continue to develop.....

i mean- id rather have Oladipo...

and Sabonis is better than either of the prospects the Lakers drafted at the end of the 1st round.

I mean to me- both sides did what makes sense for their teams

if the Lakers think George could come during free agency- you obviously dont give up ingram or ball

If you are the Pacers- and can get Sabonis- who was just taken in the lotto and looked good last year-- and Oladipo- a legit player on a long term contract--- i take that over Clarkson AND Randle and 2 late first rounders (even tough there is no evidence i have seen anywhere to suggest they even made that offer)....

Oladipo is basically a better version of Clarkson and he plays D---- Randle is gonna have to get paid next offseason- and Sabonis is better than either prospect hte Lakers drafted at 27 and 28...
