After seeing Phelps last night, I think he made the bullpen stronger, so that's a positive. I still believe this team need a legitimate #2 or #3 starter, so I would love for them to make a push for Verlander. I like Darvish as well but I don't think that's going to happen. If they get a pitcher like Verlander, he slides into the #2 spot and Felix at #3. Paxton is an obvious ace for this club at this point.

What would it take to get a guy like Verlander? I think O'Neill would've been ideal but we don't have him anymore. This is where Dipoto really screws up.

A rotation like this will allow them to make a serious push for the WC.

Tigger's already came out and said Verlander wasn't on the market. And by read other reports it would've been one of those five young players for him deals....

A loss to Sale is expected which is what made Paxton & Felix's starts that much more important. If we win today it won't be against Sale, it'll be against their bullpen. We just need Moore to keep it close, and you never know, that late ass game may be what we needed to have a chance against them. You never know how players react to no sleep.

You know I thought Moore pitched pretty good on Friday, yeah I know he gave up the 3 run bomb to Judge but if the offense was maybe helping out that game could've gone a different way...

If the offense helped at all we could have taken 3 of 4 from the yankees

We weren't going to have a high chance to win today as it was, but with a game like that last night and now burning through ALL of the bullpen and going in with a young pitcher not yet known for going deep into games and going against the top pitcher in the AL, you basically have zero hope. And they will for sure burn whatever arms they have left in the effort.

God I fucking hate Red Sox fans.

Used one of my days off today since a friend of mine is in town, was in the kitchen and heard the crowd start going nuts over a ball hit deep to center and figured it was a Mariner - nope. The stadium gets as loud for the Red Sox as it does the Mariners. I don't get why it's so trendy to be a Red Sox fan.

At least Yankee colors don't stick out as much as red does. Probably just as many Yanks fans as Red Sox fans, their colors just blend in better.

Yeah, they were destined to get murdered today. Just everything lined up against them. Still, other than some now worn out arms in the pen you'd take this all week, every week when it comes with 2 of 3 against a team of their caliber.

I wish we would have had the prospects to get Little RJ in the off season. He is not just a #1, he is an ACE.

Andrew moore, classic jack Z pitching prospect. "proximity to the majors" but not actually any good.

In all fairness this was a brutal stretch, starting with the Astros, Yankees and then the Sox.... I thought they did ok considering, but this stretch showed us clearly that we have some holes that need fixing If we want to be a serious contender ..

So anyone else feel Heredia should be the centerfield starter everyday now?

Dyson has been playing at an absurdly high level defensively as well and is a bit more of a threat on the base paths.

Haniger might need some time down in AAA. Since coming back from his injury he is hitting

I know Mitch Haniger is a darling child of the Mariners front office, but Heredia is outplaying him right now. Haniger is hitting .205/.294/.315 since coming back from his injury. Maybe he's not completely healed, who knows.

I'd rather see Leonys Martin called up as a 4th outfielder/pinch runnner. With the way he has hit in AAA he deserves another chance. Put Haniger down in AAA.

Definitely a Dipoto guy. He raved about Moore all spring and then at beginning of the year. I didn't realize until he got to Tacoma he threw so soft.

Except they need to do more than "ok" after the hole they dug themselves in first half of the season. I also disgree with just this stretch of baseball showing they have major issues, this has been present all year long. It could've been a hell of a lot worse from the Astros and Red Sox, they just need to get that over .500 hump.
