Here it is a game into the series, but let's not give up just yet.

Game 1:

Paxton has shown in July that he is in fact the ace of this staff. He was filthy last night, and Gamel just continues to be an absolute steal of a trade from last year. Thank god the Yankees don't have him, he's becoming one of my favorite guys on the team.

Having Felix as the #2 isn't so bad considering how he has looked recently. Hopefully he can get a much needed series win for us tonight, and then go for the sweep tomorrow.

For those that watched that gem last night, how about how Phelps is pitching!?! I know that there have been some seriously questionable moves by JeDi as of late, but Phelps looks like a steal considering what we gave up. It's almost like no matter the deal for JeDi, there is gonna be a clear winner whether us or the team we trade with. Can't say there has been much of an even swap, it's either we are stoked or pissed. With Phelps so far, I love what I see.

Paxton slumped for about a month in June after coming back from his injury. Those 5 starts in June sucked. But before and since he has looked very good. He is our best pitcher no doubt about it.

I don't have the stats in front of me, but they showed his comparison of June and July last night and it was unreal. His July has been CY Young worthy, too bad it hasn't been all year; he had a 1.43 era before his injury which derailed his June IMO. Had he stayed healthy we could be looking at possibly the best pitcher in baseball statistically. Oh well, glad he is back to his early year form.
