He was fantastic his rookie year and he had fantastic tape coming out of college. He gets most of his yards after contact, IIRC, and he has been playing on the worst offense in the league for both years.

I'd bet every team gameplans to stop him and truthfully I think there is a pretty big dropoff in RBs after the top 4. I only watched 2 episodes of the Amazon show on the Rams last year so I dont know as much as others about the issues he had last year ignoring the coaches and blocking schemes.

Had 5 games of 125+ and 7 of 90+. Only averaged like 10 carries a game in the other games . Gurleys biggest issue is the Rams can't pass so he's facing 7/8 men boxes every game. He had a sophomore slukp but if Goff has come along at all Gurley will have 1200+ this year

Not every play. I don't watch the Rams much but the few times I did last year I can't recall ever seeing a team with a nickel package on the field. Not one time . And that was with the Rams often behind 2+ scores

Maybe by next year when some of these new rookies come in but there just aren't many good RBS now.

His running style reminded me a bit of OJ Simpson coming out of college and he was considered a bit of a bust until he broke out

Curious to see how Shula uses this kid...if they just try to plug him in Stewart's role, I don't see it working that well.

My normal response would be that they would use him like the Patriots use James White. I think he can bring a lot of the same things to the table but Stewart isnt as good as Blount was last year so maybe the Panthers switch it up.
