Wonder Woman had a shot at tying or breaking the record. I haven't seen it yet, so will hold all judgements until I do, but wouldn't it be crazy if freaking Wonder Woman was the highest rated superhero film of all time on RT? (It's actually at 92%).

Regarding Spider-Man: Homecoming, I, like most everyone, am eternally grateful to Allah that they are not doing another origin story (also, thank you Civil War). I think Tom Holland was pretty awesome as Spider-Man in CW, and I think Michael Keaton was an awesome choice for Vulture. He looks completely menacing in the trailers.

(As a side note on Keaton, did anyone see him say in the trailer a (really bad-ass) line that was something like: "I will kill you, and everyone that you love"? Because I saw a trailer for it while watching the Phillies the other day, and I swear they dubbed it and he says "I will hurt you, and everyone you love." Maybe I'm going crazy:noidea:
Regardless, I don't really give a shit, as long as they have the original bad-ass line in the actual movie:10:

I still doubt it's as good as Man of Steel.

Which was a masterpiece.

Calling Man of Steel a "masterpiece" sounds like a stretch even to me, the biggest believer in subjective enjoyment when it comes to films. I gave it 2.5/5 stars. Michael Shannon basically carried a bland script of aliens throwing each other off buildings, IIRC.

(Well, I shouldn't say he "carried," per se. Michael Shannon kicked ass as General Zod, but Cavill, Adams (my favorite actress of all time), Costner and especially Skinny Russell Crowe were all great. Hell, even Lawrence Fishburne was a nice touch.)

I haven't seen the movie since it came out, but I remember thinking that the plot, pacing (I mean, 15 minutes into the movie, and we were still on Krypton???), and mindless action brought it down.

Plus, I'm not a huge Superman fan. He's either invincible or a pussy. My favorite Superman film is Superman Returns (3.5/5 stars).

Yeah....that says everything.

And not in a good way.

Superman Returns was an absolute dumpster fire.

Oh. Yes, I addressed him as well, albeit in slightly more detail than your patented catchphrase.

To be fair, one could just as easily "heh" at me calling Spider-Man 2 the 5th greatest movie of all time (obviously, according to me). For some reason, that one just hasn't aged as well with people. I remember when it came out and I saw it in theaters. It was comparable (for me) to those who describe seeing 2001: A Space Odyssey (2/5 stars) or Alien (2.5/5 stars) in theaters.

I may have tried to 'heh' on Spiderman 2, but choked on it, and passed out.

Eh, to each their own. I didn't absolutely hate Man of Steel, and it was definitely a more gritty movie than the play-it-safe Superman Returns, so I could see why some like it more. I thought Kevin Spacey was a great Lex Luthor, and Routhe or whatever the hell his name was was a good Superman. I liked the plot better, and there wasn't so much mindless throwing of aliens into buildings.

I am 41 hours through the 45 hour Way of Kings audiobook. Have you read the series; are you a fan?

What plot?

Spacey was fine as Luthor, although not as cold and calculating as I would've liked him after I saw him in the Usual Suspects (where I immediately tabbed him to be the next Lex).

Routh was fine as superman, he was just saved by an embarrassment of a plot that includes the train wreck of Lois and Clark having a kid together.

there's no fight.

he's too stupid to know that the entire rock is made of kryptonite? like wtf.

the whole thing doesn't fit.

That was Spider-Man 3 (3.5/5 stars), fam.

Spiderman 3. you coudl've watched like the first 10-20 and the last 10-20 (the opening chase scene and the 2 on 2 bedlam smackdown) and seen 90% of the good parts in the movie.

I tried Sanderson for a bit. Good magic building, but his handling of characters leaves a lot to be desired, imo. If someone loans me their books, I'd probably read them, and maybe he's getting better, but I stopped reading his stuff a couple of series ago.

The one with the metal/coins/push physics?
