If the Caps are smart he is...

I agree with you. I love Ovi but for the Caps future Ovi can fetch a lot of picks/prospects/players in a trade. His value will only go down from here. The man is a amazing shooter but does turn it over a lot and a liability on defense. I thought Las Vegas with their GM who was Caps GM might trade for him but he already said no.

If I had to guess a team who went after Ovechkin it would be the Panthers.

Could be I'm curious who goes from the Penns. Does Vegas take MAF with two Goalies already on board.Personally Hagelin or Rust would be the better pick imo.Caps should be up soon too Method was a great pick imo

The rumor was he was their target. Cap floor plays a role. But I'm of the same opinion as you. I would think Rust or Hagelin makes much more sense. They have young goalies now. can make up cap space trading for dead contracts from teams with cap issues and gain picks. While adding young skilled forwards with the expansion pick

The whole thing wouldnt make sense across the board imo. More picks should be coming in soon. Surprised the Isles gave up so much to protect a player

It's the Islanders...

They're talking MAF on the award show now. Aging goalie over young forwards. If Vegas takes MAF I may actually face palm :L :dhd:
