I'd like to add to that. Both the OC and DC called a shit fvcking game imo. The run was never established, stupid ass play calling, nobody covered SC's TE and UW started blitzing way too late in the game.

Take into account the PAC leader in sacks was knocked out for the season a few games before that with a broken foot and the UW leader in tackles was knocked out in the 1st qtr vs SC with a broken leg.
Thats the thing Darnold kind of stole the show last season. And a lot of people missed how good the SC defense was last year.Stevie T was great as was the secondary. And pendergast called very aggressive defensive games. One of the things that got lost in the hype. Was SC only allowed 4 RB's to rush over 100 yards.

Darnold did play a big role in exploiting the Washington defense tho. He's a very mobile QB that just makes plays. But he also spreads the ball hitting 6-8 different receivers each game. Over all they were a pretty bad mismatch for Washington.

I agree with the OP's list

So why do you have USC listed as the best? .

Because I believe USC was the best. I used the head to head with uDub.

Hence why I have penn state on there too.

I'm trying to figure out how he can cite Washington as the best with also having Ohia St on his list.

Alas his best defense is this is an opinion thread. Which of course it is.

You listed Washington as the best, tell us all why.

The entire season/body of work.
Not because 1 team beat the other team straight up.

It's like me telling you that a 9-4 Miami was the better team because they beat you in the Bowl Game.
Obviously they weren't, but whatever, have it your way.

Big 12 - Oklahoma by default
Pac 12 - USC unless they start off like last season
ACC - FSU since Clemson lost too much
SEC - Bama every year until their coach retires
B1G - Wisconsin DB's will learn to turn their cot dang heads around vs PSU and pick off those 50/50 balls

Or like saying USC was better then Washington because they beat them straight up on the road. GMFB if you think uDub was better then USC because they had a better record with a far easier schedule.

But But But college football playoff.

An Miami was a better team then us. I have no trouble admitting that.

Remove the OOC games from both teams schedules and UW still had the better record.

Ahh cherry picking to make a point.

Too bad you can't remove the ooc. An USC still handled you in Seattle.

Cherry picking? You said UW had a much easier schedule hence their record and I pointed out that if you removed both teams OOC schedule that UW still had the better record. Now how the hell is that cherry picking?

You can't remove udubs ooc record though. Just because someone has a better record does not mean they are better always, especially if they lose head to head to the other team in question.

I think it is you trying to have it both ways, not him.

You brought up the OOC weakness and he simply said when you look at the conference record UW still did better. The conference record is far more level of a playing field than the entire season. UW only lost to USC. USC lost to Stanford and Utah, both are teams UW played and beat. Both played similarly against Utah and UW destroyed Stanford while USC lost 27-10 just two weeks prior.

I really don't care who thinks USC was overall a better team or who believes UW was. It's all just opinions. Of course I think UW was better and I'd have dropped a lot of money on the rematch had it happened, but that shouldn't be a shock to anyone either.

So them playing each other doesn't count. lol
One bad game doesn't mean they aren't the best team from a season standpoint.

USC should have gotten it's shit together early.
They didn't.
They got their ass kicked.
Then they got better.

I think most rational people understand USC played the better game that day on the road. No one takes anything away from them on that. Most also understand the better team doesn't win 100% of the games they play. Upsets just aren't rare in college ball. Teams lose games sometimes they shouldn't. If we took the logic that USC was automatically a better team because they beat UW then at no time in all of recorded football history should a team ever lose to the same team twice in the same season.

No one has any problems with USC fans feeling their team was clearly better. And no one should be surprised UW fans don't see it that way. That too is as much of a part of football as it has always been.

Yeah, they got better than Washington. You're undefeated and your at home and USC comes (so it's not like they were taken by surprise) and smacks you in the mouth. USC rolled off the second longest winning streak in the country so after its bad start they didnt have an "off game". Washington was the PAC champ and deserved to be so because of their overall record. But by the end of the season USC was the better team.

Here's the thing. You guys lost your leading tackler the game before(dont know his name) , you lost the next best one durring the USC game (Akeem?) and your QB had a bum shoulder to end the season. You weren't on all cylinders by the end of the season. taking nothing away from your team they played a great season but I think those injuries took their toll.
