That was my draft year! Well, I guess technically '96 was my draft year because I'm a November birthday but Ware was an opponent growing up. No one from the GTA with that birth year ended up doing much of anything in the NHL.

At one point I had a team picture with two top 10 NHL draft picks (Jackman and Tkaczuk) in it that I thought was gonna be an interesting conversation piece for the future. Now it's a "who the fuck are these guys?" type of thing.

And he was a Leaf too! But he's still not a name remembered by anyone but serious hockey fans I don't think.

Of course add the standard disclaimer, these guys were great hockey players who had way more successful careers than any of us etc. and I'm not putting them down.

I liked Jeff as a General, but he was no Bryan Allen. Never should have been picked first round and thats not his fault.
