Again, what if we DONT get a playoffs win??

ITs ok, keep moving the goal post.

If we have to trade up, you dont really think we are going to trade up for the 3rd rated QB in the draft do you?? And like I said, come draft time next year, people will be pointing out the warts that these elite prospects have. Hell its already started and they havent even played a game yet.

not moving the goal post. you want to give a guy 80-90mg and he might get outplayed by Wentz and Goff and have a losing season this year? Why not just wait and see. SO the price goes up next year, so what? We would get the deal done if he succeeds.

Damn, you guys give Dean a hard time - not that it bothers me. :pop2:

don't listen to the blank check KC lovers. They don't understand all of our options.

I would love to know where you are getting this 80-90M number from. Luck got $47M and $87M for injury only. IM fine if a guy gets 100M guaranteed for a career ending injury. Last I heard Kirk was asking for this years tag, plus next years tag as guaranteed money. So around $60M. But im not shocked that you want to inflate the number as high as possibly to make your bullshit sound logical.

im using the Luck number of 87M. There is more risk of giving him a LTD now then after the season.

But Luck didnt get $87 million. He got $47M, the $87 number was for career ending injury ONLY. I know you dont want to believe that, but truth is, Lucks $122M contract was only 38.2% guaranteed. So total out, his guaranteed money was $46.6 million, the rest is tied up in roster bonus and future non guaranteed salary.

fine. You are missing my point. Forget the numbers. do you get that its more risk now to sign him to a LTD?

ok then why pay more in guarantees when you dont have to

b/c if he flops this year you wouldn't have to commit that gmoney. You are only looking at it from one side. Even if KC does do well we still have options to keep him here. IF he doest do well we are stuck oweing him a huge amount of gmoney.

Nothing is foolish. you don't see the point that I made. not my fault.
the point you are making is foolish . you save more against the cap by signing a LTD rather then forking up tag money that is totally guaranteed . that money can then be used on other resources

another lie , no one here is advocating a blank check , only you are pushing that . and as i have challenged you to find a post with anyone saying giving him a blank check and you failed perhaps you should stop using that term

and if he suceeds (which he has 2 years in a row ) you are on the hook for an even larger contract and hence more money tied up in him you didnt need too .

Only if you expect him to fail. If you really think he will succeed, its dumb as fuck NOT to sign him long term now, as his price will only go up if he puts up the kind of year it would take to make you happy. And realistically, if he does that, why would he sign long term when he has a shot to again play on the tag, and enter the FA market as one of the better QBs in the league at the age of 30. The only way its logical is if you expect him to fail, or if you are hoping he will fail in the case of some around here.
