Dude come on. We had a better record without Ben Simmoms. Are you kidding me. The Lakers don't have anyone close to Embiid or Saric
Plus they have an elite talent in Simmons.

Really?!? I must have missed Simmons All Star game performance and All NBA selection.

Get back to me when Embiid plays a whole season. Heck, for that matter, get back to me when he plays half a season.

And Saric. Dude averaged 12.8 points on 41.1% shooting. Hell, I could shoot a better percentage than that and I just turned 55 and haven't shot a basketball in at least 3 years.

So if Brady and Gronk sit out the season that means the Browns are better than the Patriots. No way u can say the Lakers have a better core and Saric is better than OK. He will win rookie of the year if Embiid doesn't. Simmons is going to be a star.

People know what Gronk and Brady can do, they've actually played in games.

To get PG before he's a unrestricted FA next season, they'll most likely have to send over that #2 pick to the Pacers.

I don't think I'd do that trade if I'm the Lakers. Why trade for him when they can get him next year as a free agent?

They're initiating it.

Doubtful, but possible. I'm sure they will listen to offers and may even pull the trigger on the right one. But I doubt they're specifically looking to move Russell. He was playing really well at the 2. Ball or Fultz running the point with Russell at the 2 and Clarkson coming off the bench should give them a real strong trio of guards when they finish developing.

I do agree though, the Lakers are going to listen to offers for anyone but Ingram and they might even listen on him for the right player.

Because your gonna lose your top 5pick to the Sixers if you don't. Its hilarious you guys think you have more talent than Philly. Ill bet next seasons records all night long. Its almost comical. We had a better record with no Simmons, no Embiid and Saric playing the lead role. We are adding Embiid, Simmons and the 3rd pick. I guess you think Balls impact is greater than all 3 of those players. Comical at best.

If the Lakers weren't in range to keep their pick (and they started the season very strong), they wouldn't have benched all veterans down the stretch and may not have traded away their top scorer. The lure of keeping that pick changed how the team was managed in the second half of the season.

Sure. But it's like Lou Williams is coming back to the team. The team, right now, is worse than it was to start the season. Obviously bringing in, presumably, Ball will improve the team but there aren't many rookie PGs that have a huge impact on the game.

To be clear the Lakers could win 40 games next year. But that would be a pretty dramatic improvement. That would be a 67% improvement in wins year over year. That seems like a VERY optimistic number. Even 35 wins would be nearly a 50% increase in wins. For that to happen the Lakers will need one of their young guns to have a dramatic improvement on performance.

Neither team should feel all that comfortable right now. On paper the Sixers probably have more reason to get excited because Embiid looks to be the real deal, provided he can stay healthy. But Simmons is unproven and Saric has to show he isn't just a flash in the volume pan.

If Simmons is the player people think he can be, and I think there is great reason to think he can be, and Embiid can play 70 games next year the Sixers are, IMO, a 40 win team. They bring in Lowry and they could be a 45 win team. But that is a lot of ifs.

The Lakers could make the same argument. If Ingram can gain 20 pounds and get his outside shot working. If Russell can mature. If Randle can stay on the court and develop a shot. Then the Lakers could see a big improvement. If they can get PG then they immediately become a MUCH better team.

What the hell does that have to do with whether or not they should trade for PG-13 when they can get him the following season as a free agent?

I think it a bit much, but here are the two trade deals discussed on Access SportsNet...

I guess those trades depend on how much value Russell really has.

Because it is far from certain that he will come to LA if he is a FA.

Were they compared to Lebron James like Simmons?

Kwame was compared to Olajuwon. It doesn't matter who a player is compared to until they play an actual game.

As of right now, Ben Simmons has as many points, rebounds and assists in his NBA career as I do.

True. However, the rumors that he wants to be a Laker have been very strong for awhile now and to my knowledge, he has never denied them.

Either way, I don't think I'd trade for him. If he decides he doesn't want to be a Laker after all, they can go after someone else.

They were saying the first trade was in the Lakers favor and the second was in favor of the Pacers.

They talked about a couple of other trade scenarios, and I listed them as a poll on the Lakers boards but neither of those included the Pacers and George.

I personally wouldn't do either and :hope: PG comes over as a FA in the Summer of 2018.

So you don't lose a great pick. Wouldn't it sting to have a similar year and see your 2nd pick go to Philly?

I thought you Lake fans would be higher on Saric after he average 19-8 the 2nd half of the season and dropping 30 on you guys.

Kwame was no where near the prospect of Simmons. If he came out this year you guys would be crying rivers knowing you landed the 2nd pick.
