When I first saw the Mets were leading 6-0 after 2...then 7-0 after 3, I knew that would end up not being enough somehow...then when it was 9-0 in the 4th, a little voice whispered in my ear and said...that probably still won't even be good enough, and they shouldn't take their foot off the pedal....

Oh well....that voice was right, unfortunately....ughh.

Nats climbed all the way back from a 9-0 hole....to tie it up.

But after it was all said & done..the Mets stood tough in what looked like a 7 inning laugher, then became an epic collapse...only to eek out an 11- 9 victory in extra innings.

I'm exhausted just from watching that....but at least they got the W.

May got credited with a Win....and Hembree got the Save.

Put it in the books! *What a weird season.

*No kidding. Too weird.
I'm exhausted just from watching that..and I didn't start watching until the 3rd inning..lol....but at least they got the much needed W.
Bottom Line.

Yikes.
Tai Walker could be an awesome pitcher if he wanted to be.
Too bad he devolves into a head case so often.
He only lasted 4.1 today.
:L
And we desperately need a catcher who knows how to call a game.
Maz isn't an everyday starting backstop.
He's only there to give the 2 front line guys a rest every 3rd day.
Nido is being sorely missed right about now....McCann too.
Unfortunately both are banged up/one is still on the IL.

Mets had a 4-0 lead...but that became 4-3...then a 6-3 lead....but now it's 6-6 in the 5th.

Patty Maz...sac fly rbi....7-6 Mets
Luis Guillorme K'd PHing for Loup.
Villar grounded out.

After they loaded the bases, and there were no outs...Mets get the bare minimum....1 run.
I guess we're supposed to feel grateful for that.

:rolleyes2:

7-6 mid 8th.
Trevor May coming in.

May gets thru the 8th unscathed.

Lindor jet went yard leading off the 9th.

Pete followed him with a double...

Mets lead it 8-6.

:thumb:

Edit:
Conforto makes it 9-6 ...w/ and rbi single, scoring Pete.
And he takes 2nd on the throw home....
Nice heads up there.
