I believe with a trade Rams take 22 million in dead money. Not sure hownitnworks out past that. The tale of the tape will be in the contract numbers. If we are taking all of Goff's hit it is a good trade but not great. If they are eating some of the hit, then it is great!
It looks like Lions could cut Goff after next year and only take 15 million in dead cap
No need for a QB this year in the draft but I've never been a fan of Goff.
Hopefully this team of coaches and Front Office personnel builds the team right.

It is not ideal, but total rebuild is happening. I would rather spend 15 in dead money next year over 25 million a year for the next 3.Lions need to stop the dead money. Prior to Staff being traded they pissed away 27+M in dead money for 2020 and now add in 19M more for Stafford. They were 10th in most dead money and this trade shoots them into top 5.
Stop wasting money. It kills this team for future FA signings. Just think of what 27M could get in FA. The team had only 1M in cap space prior to this trade.
They need 6.5M for Draft
6-7M for IR cap
2M for Practice squad
and now that they have Goff someone is going to get a re=structure (Trey Flowers and probably Taylor Decker) which is going to extend Flowers time here and he hasn't been worth his contract in either of the two years.
It's bad business.
