I think it's safe to say the more overrated of the two is Matt Flynn.

One game does not a great quarterback make.

He was given the keys to the Ferrari in Green Bay.

He'll be driving a Nissan Altima in Seattle.

He'll get great gas mileage then . . .

Just sayin

Matt Flynn: 6-13, 31 Yards, 53.0 Rating

Russell Wilson: 10-17, 155 Yards, 2 TDs, 128.3 Rating

Something tells me Russell will get a chance to play a first string defense next week.

NFL.com is painting a different picture for Flynn. Saying he went 0 for 5 trying to get it to T.O. including a 47 yard TD that Owens dropped, but "played well with everyone else" by going 6 for 8.

I don't know cause I didn't watch the game, but just thought I'd mention it.

Although NFL.com has an agenda too, they put up a lot of hype for Flynn so they want to back it up... just like they keep trying to say Kolb isn't as bad as he seems.

I honestly haven't doubted Wilson since day one last season. He is a very intelligent guy. He's really not that much shorter than Vick. He isn't as fast as Vick but he's elusive as hell.

I saw about half of the first half (flipping between Bears, Tolzien, and that game) and the entire second half.

NFL.com isn't wrong per se. Owens should have caught the TD. Matt Flynn is a solid quarterback who will find open receivers within twenty yards of him and wide open receivers for 50 or so yards. If his receivers and O-Line struggle, Flynn will struggle. Put him in the right situation (like Green Bay, for example), and he can put up some gaudy numbers.

Russell Wilson is basically Matt Flynn with mobility. He has such amazing pocket awareness, and he is slippery as hell. Against third string defenses, he has consistently shown that he can extend plays 3-5 seconds. That helps receivers get more open, and gives him the time to avoid stupid mistakes. If something isn't there, he doesn't force throws...he just throws it away. He is also incredibly accurate on the run, and his arm strength is greater than Flynn so he make awkward throws easily (see: the ridiculous pass to Tuinae yesterday which I hope was a top play on Sportscenter this morning). He proved this all yesterday, when he led three touchdown drives, had a receiver stumble when Wilson threw a pass that easily would have been a TD, and had a receiver drop a catchable TD pass.

If Russell Wilson can extend plays in the NFL, he will be a true game changer in a way that Matt Flynn will never be. He's proven he can do it against second and third stringers. Now it is up to Carroll to give him the chance against first stringers.

I guess Pete Carroll's opinion isn't as important as the SportsHoopla experts. You guys can all line up and kiss my ass after you pull foot out of mouth in a few weeks.

Apparently I follow a lot of Sea Chicken fans on Twitter. They were going off last night and making 13-3 and even 14-2 predictions. It's pre-season you dips. Seattle won the pre-season bowl last year too.

With that said I am a big fan of Wilson. Kid can play and I was shocked he wasn't drafted sooner.

When Russell Wilson does the player intro's on MNF, will he announce NC State or Wisconsin as his college?
