Silver floats idea of 10-minute NBA quarters

NBA commissioner Adam Silver told Dan Patrick on Wednesday that he likes the idea of shortening games to 40 minutes by going from 12-minute quarters to 10.

Another sport soon to be devoured due to the excuse that the games are too long for today's viewer. They could cut out those extra 15 minutes by reducing the number of timeouts or reducing the length of commercial breaks. So what if our quarters are 2 minutes longer than the rest of the world? The rest of the world doesn't play in the NBA.

College Football has gotten worse, with its timeouts and commercials. The national championship game was almost 4 hours, and that was with the game seemingly in hand for the second half.

The NBA should fix their 3 point problem, rather than adjust the length of the game.

Bring back the balance between points in the paint, midrange, and 3's.

They should have ten four minute quarters, and then have the team that is trailing always start the possession the next quarter.

If it's a tie, then home team starts.
