I here I was surprised he threw on third down when his run game was unstoppable . .Helf is 7-2 in two seasons.
Was surprised coach Pete's % wasn't better
These things are often baffling.

Of the 7 Pac teams that finished ranked in his first two years, he went 2-5. However there were only 2 ranked Pac teams in 2009 and (other than Stanford) one in 2010.I'm actually impressed that Jim H is 6 - 6 given what he took over at Stanford. I expected it to be worse because he started with two losing seasons. And some of the coaches like Helfrich and Shaw seriously benefited from never having to do much of anything other than continue what previous coaches have set up.
Some pretty relevant points here. Not a huge fan of something like this. Records tend to be small. There is also a huge job selection bias here. An example would be Briles and Dabo. Both are .333 vs ranked teams. Briles took over a disaster of a program at a small baptist school. Dabo took over a historically relevant Clemson program. Briles .333 is actually a solid number. Dabo is nothign to write home about. Richts .571 looks good until you realize his teams were probably the favorite in 70% of those games. Compare that to Patterson's .559 and it looks terrible.
Check out big game Bob!!
