This would be a pretty good fit for all parties involved. The real wrench in this scenario is that the Texans will have a high draft pick in a draft that is supposedly deep in qbs. The Texans actually put up pretty good numbers this year though and the only thing holding them back was their turnover ratio. Better qb play and some playmakers on D would make all the difference

Cutler is a nothing QB. I don't get the hype surrounding him. People act as if he is a hot commodity. Why?

Like the Texan's don't have enough problems at offense right now. If Cutler is so coveted, why would Chicago, which has one of the worst legacy's of QB you'll ever witness, release him, and the Texan's would trip over their schlongs to make him their new franchise QB.

Get real. Cutler sucks.

I hope this prediction does not come true. It would be a nightmare. I'd rather the Texans continue going 2-14 then get cutler and go 6-10 or 7-9 or maybe just maybe 8-8 if they're lucky.

Same reason as flacco was the hit guy last year. No one else is on the market, and the arm strength is sexy. He's missing the brains flacco has but someone will be convinced they can fix that.

I just read in the MMQB that is chicago TAGS cutler, whoever signs him would have to give up their first rounder.....

I honestly can't keep track of all the rules now a days around FA, but peter kings usually pretty good.
Houston wont be doing that.

LOL Pretty sure that Jay isn't going to help his team win the SB this year.

He's still the popular guy on the market. That gets him paid.

I know right. People are so stupid that actually believe that.

I would actually believe that. He was having a pretty decent year before his injury and at least shows promise. Cutler at this point in his career is playing about where he probably will for the rest of his career of that mid 80's quarterback rating. He will have some outstanding games but then he will have some major stinkers. He also has only made the playoffs once in his career and has more seasons of missing at least a game than full seasons in his career at this point. I would take the potential of Locker over Cutler any day at this point.

Now as for Houston taking him. I highly doubt it. They could get a decent cap friendly contract with their 1st overall pick of whoever is considered the top quarterback if they decide to go that way or even Keenum showed some promise so I could see them deciding to see what he could do if say there is a heads above the rest player with that 1st overall pick that isn't a quarterback.

Cutler would be damn scary on the Texans. Especially if they added Clowney to JJ Watt on that front 7. :fear:

Definitely not a downgrade to Locker.

A huge downgrade. The physical tools are roughly the same, and locker is way less football retarded than cutler.

I saw the TN landing spot and I think it makes sense with his tie to Nashville/Vandy...I also think MIN will be in the running because they probably know they could lose out on the 3rd QB off the board picking behind HOU, JAX, and CLE.
