But St fucking Johns??I was skeptical of how good they would be this season. They honestly weren't that good all of last season despite making the FF. There's a reason they were on the bubble for practically the entire season. You lose your top 3 scorers from a team that a fringe top 40 team, there should be an expected downfall. Aside from Boston College they look to be the 2nd worst team in that conference.
Holy fuck. Just saw this. Lost by 33 to St. Johns?m How? Why? How? The same St John's that lost to 1-10 Delaware St? That lost LIU? How? Where the fuck is Jonvi? Explain yourself!!
The loss itself is surprising but to lose byv33?? That sounds like just quitting. I'm sure SJU has some dudes but let's be honest, they've been pretty awful so far.St. John's happened Bitch Asses!
Honestly, St Johns is going to win a few games this year. They have a few 4 star recruits.
Syracuse was still somewhat in the game midway though the 2nd half and then they got bombarded and mailed it in.
The loss doesn't surprise me that much as they had just lost to G'town at home.
But the score is indicative of a team that has lost its fighting spirit.

Mullin turning things around
Boeheim seems to be starting go through his Bobby Bowden or Bobby Knight phase. Might be done as a coach soon.
Probably 1 year too late. He's retiring after the conclusion of the 2017-18 season.

I'm guilty of thinking SU was going to be quite good this year. This was based on SU picking up two very good 5th Year Senior transfers, both guards. Wright and Gillon. But they both have been getting abused by teams in the better conferences.
My guess is both these guys are not picking up SU's systems as quickly as Coach JB had thought they would. It's not only the zone defense that they are lost...but in 36 minutes against SJU, Wright only went 1 for 6 for 2 points and Gillon played 30 minutes and ended with 5 points. These are guys that averaged in the upper teens as 4th year seniors. Last night was just god awful for those two. Add in they are unable to cover the ground the SU zone requires guards to cover....they are just not working out.
SU recruits players specifically suited for JB's zone. I think it's time to demote these two 5th year transfers and run with Battle (Freshman) and Howard (Soph) to get them game experience.
