Didn't think I'd see that this late into the season. DWil, you need to fix some of your mistakes buddy. When you pay $4.2million for two, count them TWO #7 defensemen in Huskins and Wallin.....then count on them to be top 4 defensemen.....

I assume things will start to change for the better as things normalize, but still.....not good.

I was hoping there would be some moves by now but there's still time. As I've said before though, I won't consider the cleansing to be complete until Wallin, Huskins and Vlasic are all gone. I'd put Murray up there as well, but he actually plays a strong defensive game and is very good with his positioning. The Sharks also don't have another bruiser as good as him. The only time Murray gets in trouble is when he has to skate with a forward. That burns him quite a bit.

I think that they will pull it together eventually. Their goalies are still trying to get comfortable and the second line is off to a tough start. With the chances that Pavelski has been getting eventually some of those will find the back of the net.

The biggest problem is the lack of mobility on the back line. Also none of them outside of Boyle can consistently make a good outlet pass. It has been causing the forwards to come back and help the breakout. In turn they lose their speed coming out of the zone and don't stretch out the D, opponents know they can clog the neutral zone and bog down the Sharks offense. It has been killing thier transition game.

All in all the year will be a bit dissapointing for Sharks fans, at least as far as regular season standings go. But with Wallin, Huskins, and Niemi coming off the books Wilson will have the opportunity to fill these voids. Whether or not he spends wisely is another discussion all together...
