Ok here is what i found on forbath

career he is 10- 13 when we are tied

2-2 in ot for his career

2-3 when we are 7 points or less behind

now does he really choke ?

Thanks for doing that research dad. If we get rid of him, I guarantee he will be another Suishum or Akers and we will be bemoaning that we have another rookie kicker who is inconsistent.

Yeah hands off the kicker. I was so pissed that they wasted a draft pick on another one. So we are not defining "clutch kicks " as kicks with over 10:00 minutes left? No I'd define it more like the bomb he kicked against Dallas to stretch a 6 point lead to 9 in the final 2 minutes. Guy is 18 for 19 and some want to run him out of town. LOL

Forbath still can't kickoff though, so we need a solution there and using Tress Way isn't it. So we'll need to carry three K/P roster players.

Its also likely just a matter of time til his groin gets worse and then we're scouring the waiver wire for a kicker again.

This is the bigger problem as well as the kick off coverage...:L

Feels like forever since we had decent STs play that was consistent. :gaah:

Cmon guys. The short kickoffs I could see as an issue. However - the one missed FG is being overstated. You need to look at the entire game not just the tail end.

They gave up 37 pts. That is where you need to focus. The major problem was the defense & it was a combination of things. First of all you have to give credit to the Eagles. I disagree with whoever said that this was basically the Redskins losing the tame. Philly's offense is very talented & will be a challenge for just about any team. Combine that with a subpar Redskins secondary & a pass rush that didn't step it up until later in the game & you witnessed the result.

The front seven should be fine & won't always be facing this caliber of offense. The bigger problem will be the secondary (especially if Hall is out for the year). They will have to the best that they can this season & will have to make this a priority area for upgrading next offseason.

Overall I admired their spirit & while I agree that there are no moral victories we as fans have to be patient, take what we can get & realize that this is a work in process. Hopefully - the organization also understands this & make the right decisions moving forward.

I would add that as fans you should look at the overall performance of the team against both the Jags & Eagles and understand that this team lies somewhere in the middle - not bad but not great. Nowhere is this more obvious than on the defense. They looked like world beaters against the Jags but were exposed somewhat against the Eagles.

As the season unfolds I am sure that we will see more examples that are both good and bad. Again - this is a work in progress and you just need to appreciate the good players and have faith that the other areas will be addressed over the next few years.

Very well stated SoCal. Both posts If there is such a thing as a moral victory that was it. Eagles on the road is a L in most people's estimation. That way we went toe to toe with probably the #2 team in the NFC on the road was very encouraging.

Yep. The next seven games will say a lot about this team. The Seahawks & Cardinal games will likely be losses. However - the other 5 games are very winnable. Barring any more major injuries they have a good shot of having a winning record after this time, but this is the NFL so I guess we need to expect the unexpected (e.g. beat Seahawks or Cards & lose to one of the crappier teams). It certainly is an entertaining team to watch.

We will score 7 pts against the Seahawks and fans will be screaming that Gruden doesn't know anything about offensive coaching. It always amazes me when fans fail to realize that they pay the other guys too. Whenever their team loses there's always an explanation as to why their team failed them on Sunday. Some never seem to want to give the other team credit when they are simply better or just played better that day. No to some the kicker must be fired because for the first time in 19 attempts he dared to miss one so off with his head!

See I don't agree with this. McCoy had 20 yards in 19 carriers. The Eagles had 25 rushing yards and 350 total. They averaged 140 and 406 last year and 136/ 439 in the games leading up to our game. You are doing just what I was talking about. Instead of recognizing that the Eagles have perhaps the top offense in the division, maybe the entire NFL right now, you want to put it on our defense even though they held them to 100 yards under their averages.

Now the Redskins long drives and the kickoff return did sway the time of possession early but still 25 yards rushing is not a collapse by the defense. The Eagles put points on the board against everyone. And they sure have shown the ability to put up points in the second half.

The defense did its job at the end of the game to force a punt. But they only stopped the Eagles once all day before that and they had a FF. We had the ball at the Eagle 40 down by 3. We should of at least tied the game. The play calling was awful in that series. A first down run to Morris was the worst call of the year. There is no way Morris should be in the 2 min drill. This loss will haunt us come the end of the year.

The first down run by Morris was right before the 2 minute warning and the clock was going to stop right after the play.. There was nothing wrong with giving the ball to one of your best players in that situation. Didn't work out so it can be called a bad decision but it's not like it hurt them on the clock.

I don't think kicking is the problem in Washington. Perhaps a better D.

D mostly did its job Raid, we held the Eagles run game to its smallest production this year to date. And Yall have a great running game. Also, Foles did an excellent job not getting sacked and completing passes to Maclin/Matthews. No one can deny how explosive the Eagles O can be...

STs is where we came up truly short in this game. This has been the story for too long, return coverage in particular was awful during the Skins/Eagles game. Part of that falls on the kicks themselves.

Yup. Again they held the Eagles to 100 yards under their average and got crucial stops at the end. Special teams have possibly cost them 2 games. Think about that, with better special teams play they could have won this game and most certainly would have beaten Houston. They could be 3-0 right now.

Lol, I think that's what ALL skins fan are most frustrated with...:L:gaah:

Damn the absurdity and lack of execution that continues to plague this STs unit.

So - Way was the one performing kickoffs against the Eagles & not Forbath. Both of them appear to not be that great in that area (unless Way just simply had a bad day). If that is a given I would be curious what folks here believe needs to be done in that situation.

Do you cut Forbath & find another PK who is good at both FGs & kickoffs? That may be very difficult given what is left and - as others have maintained - Forbath has been very good at FGs save for the miss on Sunday (and he apparently was hurt). Do you simply continue with Way & see what happens (again perhaps given time he is good in this area).

I don't believe that this there is an easy solution & we have to resist the urge to simply say "Cut this guy & cut that guy". Patience & common sense are needed at this time.

Since we have an open spot on the PS, maybe you bring Hocker back just in case for the short term security.

The ongoing groin issue with Kai this early in the season is a legit concern. Especially since he's not doing the full job as a kicker.

Give Way as much practice as possible for the short term, see if he improves. If not, you make some tough decisions.
