Got the series I wanted

Only downside is I dont have a team to truly root against. But good thing is I wont be pissed off either.

That Royals game 6 against Toronto felt a bit lucky with that absurd strike call. Yost is due to blow a game somewhere in the series. Cueto is also probably a liability. I was pretty confident that Murphy was going to cool off and the Royals would eventually take this in 7 but all of the indicators are pointing to the Mets.

I think this series is going to look a lot like the Royals/Astros series from earlier this postseason

The 6 days off concerns me slightly, especially with Murphy's hot streak, but I still think the Mets should win in 6 or 7.

Just have to score early as their bullpen cuts the game in half.

Just bought my tickets for game 2 yesterday, me and my gf will be there rocking Wright and deGrom jerseys

That's awesome - enjoy the game. I'm sure there will be some road travelers coming to see that game wearing Mets jerseys.

Grantland has a pretty excellent breakdown of the series. There is going to be a lot of heat this series and both teams look like they can hit it. Its going to come down to whether those fly balls are going to leave the park.

Johnny Cueto has the potential to go down as someone who the Royals fans will hate for decades. This series could be fun.

I read a breakdown this morning that basically gives the Mets the edge in starting pitching and centerfield (IF Cespedes can play at 100%), and the edge to the Royals at every other position, plus bullpen and DH/Bench.

You would expect the big, bad NY team to be favored and the scrappy, thrifty Royals to be the lovable underdogs, but KC has a larger payroll, 7 all-stars compared to the Mets' 1, a better regular season record, and they were in the WS just last season.

I'm hoping the Mets win the series via a fan reaching for a fly ball over the fence and turning it into a HR, as that is now permissible I hear.

Or is that only applicable when Canadian teams generating low ratings for Fox are playing?

Seriously, this "man" needs a stylist... or at least a voice of reason.

I was there too, but I've picked the Mets.

I just can't overlook how fucking annoying Ventura is.

During Friday night's ALCS game, one of the commentators said this about Ventura:

I'm convinced this guy has no mirrors 'cause he does not realize how small he is, and he doesn't realize that there are actually not too many guys on a major league field that would not crush him in a fight.

Priceless.

Yes, the World Series is Price-less. We knocked him and the Blue Jays out of contention.

No idea how it turns out but I feel like this is an unbelievably even matchup. I expect Murphy to cool off a bit but the question is who will step up to pick up that slack?

I believe I said it in another thread, the one thing that worries me is the Royals had the best team batting average against pitchers that averaged over 94+ mph. Mets will need to beat them with their secondary pitches. Murphy and Flores need to be on their A game defensively since KC puts everything in play.
