This was a damn shame. The USA dominated the match altogether and probably deserved to be up 3-nil or 4-nil at just the half, which would've put the game out of reach for sure. As it was, Japan never led and needed to tie the game late twice just to stay alive. They were never a threat to win until the USA completely choked under the pressure on their first THREE penalty kicks, not scoring even once.
