The Mets held on for the 3-2 win, but he had an ominous debut...0 for 4, and had an error....as he was probably cruising on adrenaline after the jet lag kicked in. I'm sure he'll settle down, get his bearings and be a good one if given the chance, which he should, now that Wright is gonna be on the DL for a long stretch.

Although they are 17 games out of 1st......with tonight's win over the Rox, the Mets have leap frogged ahead of the Phillies into sole possession of 3rd place after the Cubs beat them. ...and are just 1. 5 games behind the Nats for 2nd, who lost to the Braves.

Well since its the Wilpons and they dont spend any money Im thinking they will just use Tejada until someone in the minors looks like he can actually play baseball.

Well word is they're going to have a payroll around $100 million, which I believe is about $20 million more than where we're at now. When you factor in we have about $60 million coming off the books that means we're going to be spending like crazy this year. Sign Choo and Ellsbury!

I wouldn't be unhappy with Choo and Ellsbury at all, but i'd still love to see Stanton. I still think there's a big chance that we make a deal for him. Ellsbury/Stanton works for me.

Nice game and win today for the sweep.......now we have to hit the road again...3 in AZ, 3 in LA, 4 in SD..and that 1 makeup game that got snowed out in Minn....if we can go 7-4 or better and move up in the WC hunt, things could get interesting in Sept. with the roster expanding....and we'll have DW back by then too..

I have no illusions that the Mets are going to get anywhere near the WC. But, they do play better on the road, and they took 2 of 3 in Arizona. I don't see that same thing happening with BigD's Dodgers, who seem to have righted the ship. likely 1-2... 3 of 4 in SD is plausible, maybe a split is more likely, and who knows what happens in Minnesota. 7-4 is not out of the question. I'll take 6-5 and some more of that OBP-juice that Ike is drinking.
