I think Luck being a dual threat, he will have a better year as a rookie, but I don't think he will turn the program around like Manning did or have the career Manning has.

I also think Andrew Luck doesn't have Peyton's team either. A lot of the players that made that team great under Manning are now gone or far past their prime.

I think Andrew Luck is starting in a very similar situation as Manning.

Luck is going to crush those stats IMO, especially coming from the style offense he comes from incollege. The realiy is that college offenses now are so much more advanced than they were even 15 years ago that these rookies come in and can succeed at a MUCH higher level than they used to.

Obviously, Luck will have far better rushing stats. I think he'll do better rushing in a single game than Manning did that season. I don't think Luck will crush the passing stats though.

I think Luck will do better than 1998 Manning in

I think he can get 3,000+ passing yards, but I think it will be similar.

When comparing Manning's rookie season vs. Luck's rookie season so far, it seems clear that Luck has a better team around him than Manning did; hence the much better W/L record already vs. Manning '98.

I'm not so wrapped up in Luck's individual achievments or QB rating; I'm just glad that the Colts - at least to this point - look like it won't take them several seasons to become a fairly respectable squad again.
