Will LeBron ever be seen as better than Kobe in the eyes of Lakers fans?

Provided he comes back next year, LeBron is set to spend his longest NBA stint w/ the Lakers... With that said, how can he be the GOAT of the sport if he's not even the GOAT of his own franchise???

Well, that is an easy one.

When he goes into the Hall of Fame, he will go as a Cleveland Cavalier where he played for 11 years and brought them their only title.

Had to gone to LA before in his prime, he would be the greatest Laker too.

But he didn’t.

And the Lakers have a long list of all time great players in their history, including like half of the top 10.

Chamberlain was never the GOAT of the Lakers, doesn't change his overall ranking.

Kobe isn't the GOAT of the Lakers either. I'd have him no higher than fighting for 3rd behind Magic and KAJ.

Could also rule MJ out by his "logic" since not the greatest Wizard/Bullet.

Jordan spent all of two years as a Wizard… Not what I’d call “his” franchise.

Again, LeBron comes back next year it will be his 8th with the Lakers, the most loyalty he’s shown towards one team, and his longest stint with one team…

Cavs fans won’t want to hear it, but he’s a Laker at heart at this point.

I’ll ask again: How can he be the GOAT of the sport if he isn’t the GOAT of his own team? @tlance @DJ Fieri

Better than Kobe as a Laker? You're joking, right?

I already answered you.

Lakers aren’t “his team”.

That is merely the best place for him to live with his family to finish out his career.

Zero chance he would identify the Lakers as his team when he retires.

He spent a total of 11 years with the Cavs (11>8) and as @tlance pointed out...he'll go into the HoF as a Cav."

Greatest Laker of all-time is Magic, then Kareem, then Kobe after that it depends on where you rank guys like Shaq and The Logo.

At best, Lebron would be the 4th greatest Laker and there are many Lakers fans who would put Shaq and/or Jerry West ahead of him.

As a Cav fan I can hear it and don't mind. Call him a Laker if you want. He helped us win a title I never thought I'd see. I'm good.

I don't think he does either but since our title still happened if he does it's whatever.

LeBron won't be remembered as the greatest Heat player either even though he was essential to 2 titles, winning league MVP and Finals MVP. That doesn't put him out of the running for GOAT because he will still be the greatest player from the team he is identified with, the Cavs.

And he really was the best player for the Heat easily.

He just wasn’t there long enough to be their greatest player over his teammate Dwayne Wade.
