Will Cousins play this season?

I know the Skins have only played 1 game but does anyone see Cousins starting a game this season? I think Shanny really messed RG3 up and I am getting nervous that he will never be the same or a little less then the 2012 RG3 we all are enamored with. My prediction and I hope I am wrong is that RG3 and the offense continues to struggle and after the Week 10 Bye, Gruden goes with Cousins as the starter. Then in the 2015 draft we seriously consider taking Winston or Mariota.

The only way I see Cousins starting this year is if RG3 is injured. He would have to play really poorly to be pulled and I just don't see that happening. Gruden will give him at least one year.

If we get to week ten, there is no point in putting cousins in at that time unless RG3 is injured. And I dont think its fair to say, well the coach screwed him up and absolve the player of any responsibility.

At the current ratio of 35 drop-backs to 25 hits on his person sustaining his health when he's getting clobbered 71% of the time seems to be a recipe for an earlier K. Cousins sighting than this team can afford. So, yes we'll see Cousins starting.........UNFORTUNATELY!!!

Only ways Cousins sees the field in 2014..........

1) Griff is injured.

2) If by weeks 10-12 the Skins are 3-7/3-9 and all but mathematically eliminated from the playoffs/outright eliminated from playoffs and more importantly. Griff has shown very little far as progressing in Gruden's offense, has shown nothing in progressing, has actually regressed.

3) I still have high confidence that Griff has the physical and mental tools to be a top tier NFL QB. I have become somewhat concerned with his emotional state though. As a KFFL poster said, Griff seems too sensitive at times. I also wish he wouldn't feel it necessary to talk so damn much. Whether its actual talking or via social media.

I think that this point is the most important point that you have made, not to slight the others but, his emotional state is extremely important, so far his confidence that he's able to do his job effectively is at question. I don't really care about his off field interactions on social media, could be therapeutic for him to vent in that manner. I often wonder how confident he is that the play called has a chance to work when he lines up? So far, he's been hit or knocked down at a 71% clip (yeah only one game) not exactly an effort that breeds confidence. Add that to the fact that he's coming back from an bad injury, something that also plays a role in his psyche. Of course he still has the physical and mental tools to be a top tier QB in this league, but the clock is ticking on him and on a team that seemed willing to invest a lot to get him, yet unmotivated to move in a direction that protects that investment.

If RG3 plays bad tomorrow against JAX he should be pulled. That would be two bad games in a row. Any other QB except for the obvious choices would be pulled. He is only playing b/c on what we gave up for him. If RG3 and Cousins had a real QB completion Cousin would have won it easily. RG3 is not reading defenses. He is just an athlete not a QB. I hope he proves me wrong tomorrow.

Those are proven QB's in the league. RG3 is not a proven QB hence the short leash. Plus none of those guys have Cousins backing up. Look at what the Bears offense did with McCown last year.

Second thing. I prefer to look at what Cousins himself did with the Redskins offense last year.
