I also hate that play from the standpoint that dalton doesn't look, and they continue to go away from the power run, making 2nd down amost 100% positive a run play.

FBs are becoming obsolete. I see other teams using DTs is short yardage. The Jets actually handed Richardson the ball for a TD in week 17

If you are going to use a FB in less than 5% of your plays, you should be able to find a DL that can at least learn 5 plays and learn how to just blow someone up. It saves a roster space. The days of the pure FB run oriented attack are almost gone.

It may cycle back, but with colleges and such going to the spread, the prospects are dwindling as well to even have a FB.

And, like I said, I hate the blind throw, too.

Play action to the left, and then an immediate turn to the right and throw is just not worth the risk. It's a play set up to give the defense the ball, and a potential score.
