The San Jose Sharks acquired James Sheppard from the Minnesota Wild on Saturday in exchange for a third round draft pick in 2013.

so far we've got: Brent Burns, Martin Havlat, James Sheppard and a 2nd-round draft pick for Devin Setoguchi, Dany Heatley, Charlie Coyle and Zack Phillips.

ummm... Sharks know that Minny was a pretty shitty team, right?
I guess I shouldn't throw stones, Nucks have been using the Panthers as a farm team just as much,

I feel like a lot of the guys the Sharks are getting from the Wild will thrive in reduced roles in San Jose versus what was expected of them in Minnesota. That's why trades with bad teams for their pricey veterans usually work out for the buyer in the short run. They have the luxury of maximizing that player.

alot of the trades that San Jose is doing reminds me of the trades that Boston did to get Kelly, Kaberle, Horton, Peverly etc... really shoring up those bottom lines and Defense to make a real run.
