There are other ways of adding DNS entries. If you can reach google's page with that IP address we will find a way to help you.

Since everything is locked up by your IT department it might come down to editing the DNS on your girlfriends router.

They told me I need to get to the tcp/ip settings but I don't have access

Yep it didn't load. I could ping xfinity from a command prompt. That was it. Not Google thought. They said its my settings not the router

And who is telling you it is your settings and not the router?

I'm not saying there is something wrong with your GF's router, but there may be settings/changes that could make it so the things you can't change on your IT managed machine can be overcame.

I'm not saying there is something wrong with your GF's router, but there may be settings/changes that could make it so the things you can't change on your IT managed machine can be overcame.

just the same thing no network connection available, times out.

I called verizon, they tried some thigns, and said it was the settings and that i needed to edit the tcp/ip settings but im blocked from doing that.

I would try ipconfig /release in the command prompt.
