Huge gain for the AAC, who as a conference has largely been irrelevant the last couple of years. Huge loss for the MVC. Which has now lost Wichita State and Creighton in the span of 4 years. I'm not sure who they can add because it has to be a non football school, so schools like MTSU would automatically be eliminated. I wonder if a team like Belmont would make sense? That would be a little outside their geographical footprint so the MVC might be hesitant. Another option might be a school like Valpo, or UW-Milwaukee.

I'm pumped. We got a top 10 program in our conference now. And I'm reading they're pretty stron

Cincinnati, SMU, Wichita State, UConn, Memphis. Not too bad for mid major basketball.

Top 10 seems a little off.

Huge catch for the AAC! And I'm excited as a UConn fan as well!

Houston is coming around nicely as well. If all of those teams are at least decent (or respectable) at the same time, it should make for a pretty good basketball conference.

Also forgot that Temple is in the AAC too. The league has the potential to have some pretty solid basketball.

Rumor out of Terre Haute is that the MVC is taking a look at Valpo and Murray to join the league. I doubt Murray would leave the OVC but Valpo might move.

Some people want the AAC to include Dayton and VCU, but 12 seems like the right number. If we were to add anyone else, it has to be someone who strengthens the football side.

The AAC probably could be a top 4 conference now. Up there with the Big East.

Too much dead weight at the bottom of the conference. The Big East is built on balance. Every team except DePaul has made the tourney since the new Big East began.

But the top 4 or 5 teams of the AAC could be as good in given years, sure.

Dang, it's the most convoluted conference since Potsdam, but it's maybe the most powerful basketball conference ever, at least since the heyday of the old Big East.

Hahaha, Coach Marshall drew it up on a napkin!

I think this is great for WSU and the AAC.

It's a great conference for depth of top teams, it's not exactly geographically or curturally natural though.

Hahaha, my bad. That part about the napkin was a joke. Churchill is rumored to have drawn up the parcelling of Europe (ultimately, the Potsdam), on a napkin.

It'll be some long flights between them, and WSU definitely isn't east coast basketball, but I think the improved competition will help everyone, and spring some new Shocker fans in the east.

AAC has some potential with Wichita, UConn, Cincy, SMU, Memphis, Temple, Tulsa, Houston and UCF. The AAC, despite the criticisms, has been really well run. It's not quite a power conference but it's clearly the best non-power conference in football and basketball.

Basketball, yeah. But Houston and Navy pretty much run the show in football. Memphis and UCF have their moments. Tumberville set Cincy back like 5 years while he stole money from us.

I wouldn't mind seeing the MVC add Valpo and Oakland. Or they could just see if some of the football members want to join like SDSU, South Dakota, NDSU etc
