:agree:

their current roster of Rondo, Gerald Wallace, Kris Humphries, Jeff Green... It's not terrible. That is 35 wins like you say. Especially in the east. .
If Gerald Wallace and Kris Humphries play like they did last year, that is much closer to a 25 win team at best.

Apparently Orlando, Toronto and Detroit are all interested in trading for Bledsoe from LAC.

I say build around Rondo, Brooks and Green. Brooks will strive with Rondo getting him open looks and we all know Green is a 18 Per game scorer with starter minutes at the 3. If Humphries can play like he did a couple years ago we wont be that horrible. Then Wallace isn't a bad back up 3, just over paid. I hope they can dump his contract at some point or were going to be stuck with the 3 years and 30 million left. He's making Jeff Green money and will probably average 6-8 PPG.

It still upsets me Danny didn't pull the trigger at the trade deadline. Danny didn't pull the trigger to get Josh Smith at the deadline because he didn't want to lose a 1st rounder and we could of gotten Jordon and Bledsoe. It could look like this right now.

C: Jordon
PF: Smith/Bass
SF: Green
SG: AB/Lee/Terry/Crawford
PG: Rondo/Bledsoe (Trade bait)

HC: Doc Rivers

Good ole Danny.

Logic,

You seem to have a very realistic grasp on the C's needs.

Do you think they can get back to contenting by building around Rondo?

That team would be a 4 to 6 seed in the East with no chance of getting better. I am not sure why you would want that.

It is a possibility that Wallace and Humphries just had a year long shooting slump. Humphries shot 48% in 2012 and only 45% in 2013 while Wallace shot 48% in 2012 and only 40% in 2013. Wallace's FT shooting also dropped from 78% to 64%.

Humphries might be a serviceable role player but Wallace is on the decline

I will remind you of this when the Celts have reassembled a contending core in a couple years. Ainge is absolutely the right guy to build it.

It isn't possible to build a contender around Rondo in Boston, because they will be either in, or just out of the playoffs, won't have the cap space to sign another star, and he will leave in 2015.

Once you take your time and objectively analyze the situation, hopefully you will come to the same realization. Ainge is doing this the right way, even though it will be wildly unpopular with the fans.

Tanking for a draft pick is some pussy ass bullshit and I will never respect someone attempting to do so. Period.

So a top 2-3 PG
AB who can get 12 a game and is a great defender
Green and Smith are both 16/18 a game
Then Jordon would be fit well with the group.
Oh yeah we still have one of the best coaches in the game, with a young and talented team.

That team can contend

Tanking is losing on purpose. That would mean benching players to make your team less competitive.

What the Celtics are doing is not tanking, it is rebuilding. When your team isn't get enough to win with what you have, you trade your good players for assets that will help you win in the future. Sometimes, when you are acquiring future assets, that means you take a hit in the short term in order to get back to where you want to go in the future.

Again, that is not tanking. Holding on to what the C's have now will get them absolutely nowhere.

Giving up a very good player without getting equal value in return is tanking. I can't and won't respect it. I don't care if they do suck enough to get the number one pick and he's the best ever. It's not something I can respect or root for under any circumstances.

Then you wouldn't make a very good GM.:suds:

Rondo is not anywhere near the top 3 PGs in the league. See the reasons why in the OP. Smith only cares about himself.

Plus, that team does not complement each other very well because all of your best players are slashers who can't shoot it. Green would be the only real 3 point threat in the starting unit.

Sorry, but that team is no better than what the Hawks have been and they have no chance against the best in the east in a 7 game series.

Ignore him claiming we don't need a couple pieces, but it can be done in a respectable way.

Rondo was the only reason I've watched the Celtics the last couple years. After Chris Paul I'd say Rondo. Rose and Westbrook are close.
